جاوید شیخ جب بچہ تھا اور آدمجی تھیئیٹر گرومندر کراچی میں پریکٹس کرتا تھا، غالباً 1972 کی بات ہے۔
میں نے اس وقت ہی بھانپ لیا تھا کہ یہ بہت آگے جائے گا!
ان دنوں صبیحہ خانم بھی لاہور سے وہاں آئی تھی۔ میں اسی کو قریب سے دیکھنے کیلئے وہاں گیا تھا!
جب وہ اختتام پہ باہر نکلے تو جاوید سے بھی ملاقات ہوئی تھی، میں نے اس کو داد دیتے ہوئے ان کو بتا بھی دی تھی!
ان دنوں کراچی میں ایلفی پہ رٹز سئنیما اور کیفے نیویارک کے آس پاس ایک نائیٹ کلب بھی ہوا کرتی تھی۔ جاوید شیخ اسے بھی وابستہ تھے۔
ان کا سکھر سے تعلق ہے اور مصطفیٰ قریشی کی طرح خالص سندھی سپوت ہے، جس پر ہمیں ان پر بجا طور پہ فخر ہوا کرتا تھا!
