I have a good understanding of many of these fit issues and some I am able to fix on my own. However at my age and with bad knees & back not so great either I struggle to fit on my own body. I just finished a dress muslin and I wanted to practice doing lining for my second time doing the burrito method. It all turned out pretty good but there are many fitting issues. I’m just not going to put myself through trying to solo fit. I have a friend who is going to help me and I will do the fit fixes to pattern.
Good for you! If you’re comfortable-that’s all that matters. It really is hard to fit by ourselves. And many will envy having a fitting buddy like you! Good luck!
Thank you - very well demonstrated just one question- how do you fix a gaping back with shoulder blades that need adjustments in a yoke such as in the Love Notions Rhapsody (where the yoke crosses over the shoulder)? If you covered this somewhere else I would appreciate your guidance.
There’s a link in the description for the Fitopedia Playlist. This one in particular may be helpful: Fitting Back Yoke Issues - SB-YK Fitopedia th-cam.com/video/b2xAqDWk7ac/w-d-xo.html And all the videos are linked in the PDF which can be purchased. There’s a link for that too! Thanks for watching!
This was very well done. Tried to watch last night in bed but kept falling asleep, lol. So watched this morning. A pattern I was trying to fit had a huge gap at the center back neckline. I had already fixed the shoulder excess but this was ridiculous, I’m talking a good 2 1/2” gap. So I wondered if I should just size down. I am trying that today. But I have never come across this before. I do a round back of about 1/2” in everything but even with that still have gaping. I’m confused about what this says? Thanks
You can fit yourself asymmetrically if you’re willing to have a pattern that you have to cut that way. I think it works great on many! We’re all asymmetrical!
You are not casual you are confident in the knowledge that your methods are TNT! We all love you 🥰
