This guy scored more goals in his career than some great strikers of the late 90’s and early 00’s, that says a lot from him that’s just staggering he was so damn good, technique,power, composure,finishing ability, and could dribble past opponents with ease. For me he’s one of the best 3 attacking midfielders/shadow striker/winger whatever position you may think suited him most I’ve seen in my life

Era muy imaginativo y resolutivo en el área, tenía un tiro formidable, como si fueran latigazos, con la zurda, muy bueno en el regate, en especial en los quiebros y amagues, con un control y un aguante del balón perfectos y aunque no excesivamente rápido, tenía una zancada que le hacía dejar atrás a los defensas. Parecía que con esas piernas tan arqueadas que tenía podía hacer cualquier cosa. Merecido balón de oro en el 1999, campeón del mundo con Brasil en el 2002, subcampeón en 1998, conquistador de la Copa América de 1999 y ganador de dos ligas y una copa del rey en aquel gran Barcelona de Louis Van Gaal, junto a Figo y compañía en 1998 y 1999.

As it is those are the best players I've seen post Diego Nd pre Messi I guess. But I don't think Baggio quite fulfilled his potential due to injury and managerial problems. Ronaldo was never the same after 98 Nd those 2 injuries. Best striker I've seen but not best player. Figo at times was better than Rivaldo but not as deadly. Zidane is a good shout but I prefer Rivaldo

For example, short of holding the ball, I cant think of a single thing that he didnt do better or much better than Zidane, but I wouldnt pick him over the latter if I had to pick someone to lead the team.

Too many comments saying he was underrated but I have to disagree imo. How was Rivaldo underrated? He was one of the biggest stars in the game from around 1997 to about 2004. Won the Ballon d'Or. Regular starter for Brazil in attack during multiple World Cups, during one of the country's golden eras. A World Cup winner. During his prime Rivaldo was almost always in the discussion for best player. He fizzled out near the end after his move to AC Milan but during his time at Barcelona he was practically unplayable at times. One of the best of his generation.
Konrad Wroblewski he’s no and was not underrated. If anything he’s just been forgotten by those that don’t know or perhaps weren’t there at the time.

I think a good goalkeeper can't concede a goal from midfield if he stays in position. It's always a fault when a player scores in this circumstances.
Rooney also scored a variety of spetacular goals, including one of the best bycicle kicks ever. but none is on par with Zlatan Ibrahimovic when it comes to score spetacular goals.
Rivaldo was world class, but maybe he's not even in a Top 5 of brazilian players.
Pelé, Zico, Ronaldo, Romário, Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Neymar were definitely better. Maybe Rivelino, Reinaldo (Atlético-MG), Paulo Roberto Falcão, Didi, Kaká and Garrincha too.
We generally rank offensive players higher than others because you generally need more quality to play in those positions. but if you think about pure recognition for quality playing in his role\position, there are other brazilian players that were better than Rivaldo. For example: Marcelo Vieira, Roberto Carlos and Leandro. They are amongst the best full backs ever.

You're really biased here. Rivaldo definitely isn't in a Top 5 of best players worldwide. He's not even close. Maradona, Messi, Cruyff, Puskas, Eusébio, Van basten, Cristiano Ronaldo... You can't even begin to argue in a serious debate. If you were a pundit and say this, you would be ridiculed and people would say you have a poor football knowledge.
We're talking about the goals scored, not about who is the best player. Stankovic's goals are the best from midfield here. And If you really played football you have to recognize that Rooney bycicle kick was more difficult than the bycicle kick of Rivaldo. I've already seen other better goals. Phillipe Mexes bycicle kick, for example. The bycicle kick of Ibrahimovic vs England is simply the best ever and probably the best goal ever.
Rooney wasn't too inferior when compared to Rivaldo. Maybe even Messi isn't good enough to say Zlatan Ibrahimovic "can't even lace the boots". I prefer Ibrahimovic. He's a football genius.

I remember when he was playing that he was considered one of the greats, but since retirement nobody seems to talk about him anymore. Maybe because he was in the same team as Ronaldo and so was eclipsed by him.
His negative quality was a tendency to dive a lot and fake injury. I remember before taking a corner, a Turkish player kicking a ball at him which hit him on the arms, and he fell down rolling around clutching his face to get the Turkish player sent off - and the player got a red card.
