  • Hey Friends! This is part 1 of a series showing the installation of the light surrounding my patio. The lights I chose for this project were the Philips Hue Calla Bollard fixture. Each of the 22 lights border the patio and walkway providing ambient and pathway lighting. I decided to bypass the standard Exceedcon link cables that came with the fixtures and use PVC conduit to both contain the wiring and mount the light fixture. Come back for part 2 that shows the wiring of the transformers!

Nice job, the conduit will keep the critters from chewing on the cables (I’ve had to repair a few myself), depending on how strong the sun is you area you will most likely see the ABS plastic lenses yellow over time. There is another video on there on gutting and replacing with frosted glass for the price they could have used better materials.

Billy, I know this is kinda random but did you happen to be at the Minnesota State Fair this year? The A1 for the live performances at the MPR booth looked an awful lot like you (and was using an M32 as well).

Much like Shaggy…..wasn’t me. Though I was at the State Theater in Minneapolis in May….if that counts 🤣🤣. Hopefully that FOH human at the state fair was strikingly handsome and had a great mix!

Would people most likely have to bury these conduits 24 inches underground as per the electrical code? Or would I be fine just DIY ing something like this?

@@korenucl3646 you can DIY it. It’s low voltage power. In this application the conduit was to obviously protect the cables, but I also wanted the junction boxes as a steady mounting base for the lights.

Pretty much a useless video for the 99% of people that will install these using Hue's cables.

99.99% of people will install these with Hue’s cables. I think those people can probably figure out the T junctions and cables that come with the lights.
