  • Hey guys! In today's video we are trying out the new DCGP21 cars. I used to compete in DCGP and won the 2020 championship, however the DCGP crew have done a lot of work on the cars and have created possibly the best cars for beginner comp drifters. Check it out!

Definitely had some issues on transitioning with my G29, never realised that had to do with wheelbase. On some cars I literally would have to 'throw' the wheel to get the wheel turned fast enough lol

Yeah, your wheel doesn’t have enough torque, I’d just stick with wdts cars, I think those are one of the most fun cars aswell

720 degrees and proper settings in game can make the Logitech wheels driveable (at least for me in the S15 or E92) let me know if u want to try my settings cause its possible

Not just setting up these cars, but a do's and don'ts setup video and especially how it translates from IRL to ingame. I've been tuning in AC for years and I'm always trying to read and watch IRL material to get an idea of how the pro's do it and I'm constantly learning from that, but it would be reassuring to hear the opionion of someone who tunes for both the game and IRL to see how it translates. The two main areas I struggle to understand are dampers and the diff. For dampers I read that "If the rebound is set too stiff in relation to bump then a process called jacking down occurs. This is where, after hitting a bump and compressing the spring, the rebound is set too stiff to allow the spring to return to its full length before the next bump is encountered" so I always set the bump stiffness higher than the rebound and set the front dampers higher than the rear to allow the car to squat and give more forward bite and mechanical grip. However what I read is for racing applications and I can't find any information on dampers for drifting so I'd like to know whether I'm doing it right or not.
As for the diff I've watched and read so many video's on how they work in IRL, but I don't understand how that translates to AC. I get that the higher the percentage, the quicker it is to lock on either accel or decel and that having the ability to adjust both is a two-way diff. However is adjusting the percentages akin to swapping clutch packs on a IRL car? I understand that you need to lock the diff under power for drifting, but should this always be at 100% or are there times where it should be at 80% for example? And for decel should this be high or low? From feel and A/B testing I've always found a lower decell percentage to be better in higher speed sections as I feel like it's pushing the car foward to give better forward bite, whereas a higher decel value feels like it pushes the rear of the car out more and makes it float towards the outside of the corner too much. For example I was practicing with the VDC RX7 on Pukekohe and with a high decel value I always speared off into the grass on the first corner initiation because the car floated too much towards the outside before it would grip up and get back on the throttle. Whereas as soon as I lowered the decel value to around 60% I could initiate and the car would grip instantly allowing me to power through the corner without floating to the outside. Is this accurate to real life?
Also on a final note I think it's worth mentioning the "Car Status" window to the right of the tuning menu as that will show the live values of the alignment proportionate to the changes you make to things like the spring rate and the ride height. I've noticed a lot of people don't realise this and just look at the values on the sliders themselves which means they think they're setting the rear camber to 0 because that's what it says on the slider, but due to the spring rate and ride height their static camber could be at -1.7 or something. I feel it's necessary to point this out if you're doing a tuning video.
Final final note, regarding alignment what should toe be? A lot of the information I'm finding online is American and they use inches rather than degrees so it can be difficult to convert. Especially when Mike Kojima writes a specific measurement like 1/8th inch toe in but you don't know if that's for one side or 1/8th inch toe total for both sides. I tried to calculate it before and got -0.45degrees for one whel here: i.imgur.com/JUF0r3C.png That was using the guidelines of "more than 1/8th inch but no more than 1/4inch toe out. So yeah, a guide on that would be handy too please. Mucho gracias!

Vdc DCGP are close to undrivable... Understeer in every corner or spin out as soon you go too big angle... I gonna do a friendly comp with VDC in two weeks and for me they are a pain in the ass. WDT 21 is the best for me. Stable, predictable, still can do quick transitions with a clutch kick and more importantly doesn't understeer even with a front biased setup! IRL, DCGP/VDC would be borderline dangerous or suicidal lmao.

Just got slidiebois cars and they are way easier than these to drive. I these cars and they are always a lot to manage. I got the slidiesbois and I can drive them good out of the box. They are more intuitive. I don't know which one is more realistic though. WDT 2021's are also easier, I find them easier than the Links but not as easy as SB

I herd u talking about a “meta” car for dcgp, and then u said that the s chassis is meta for VDC. Maybe you should run a different chassis next year just to prove to people that its not like a FPS shooter where a certain gun is going to make u good. It’s purely about the skill imo.
