As a 40yr old in the 2020s I vaguely remember older people in the 80s and 90s and Al Murray beautifully personifies those attitudes and behaviours and hovers on the line of ridiculousness, Hilariously! I'm Glad you Yanks get it and see for it for what it is !

What wasn't obvious here was he'd already spoken with those audience members during the night. I love how he does that and how keeps pulling them into his routine during the show.

It took me a while to ‘get’ Al Murray. He’s like Stephen Colbert and when you get them it’s brilliant. Unfortunately they’ve both admitted to having issues with people be fans of them because they like them without the satire. Right leaning bigots who like their work (knowing it’s a character and send up) but just like hearing their own ignorances said back to them.
I'm watching these two dudes and I can't see a pizza box let alone two anywhere. They sure know how to tidy up before going on air. Watch “time gentleman please” it’s a show set in Al Murray’s pub. Al Murray is the main character along with some equally funny regulars/bar men. Episodes are 20 mins long but split in two so should be easy viewing for you guys. I actually find “time gentleman please” funnier than Al’s stand up
