It's never going to change unless you stop giving one person too much power. Churches leadership structures are just like a business. That's not biblical, and until you allow for their humanity and weakness by putting too much responsibility on them, you will keep seeing the same thing. I'm 47,and I keep seeing it over and over
I agree with this in spirit but do we have another method or structure? I’m sure the apostles in Acts were in charge. And plenty of churches back then were already getting messed up by less than ideal leaders. So it seems “biblical” to me. Biblical doesn’t mean “good” it just means “occurred in the Bible” I mean do we really want the masses in control? Or are 12 leaders going to do a better job than 1? I think this is the nature of the beast. There’s no stopping it. Humans at every single level consent to it. I tire of seeing it too and I’m only 30.
You don’t have to ask “shall I do this ? Or do that ?” If you walk with the Holy Spirit you do what He tells you to do, say what He tells you to say and go where’s he tells you to go
The spectrum of responses on this video is amazing. Are we willing to have mercy on others? Are we willing to not put a law against patience? Are we willing to follow the leading of the Spirit as we correct others?
Stop making assumptions about what “we” are doing. Are you willing to uphold justice? Are you willing to call for reform at the cost of your well-being?
@@bradvincent2586 100% agreed, we should call for justice. And I’m not sure what reform would cost me personally in my context, but I agree we should put ourselves aside in all situations, for the sake of others, as Jesus commanded. I assume you mean that often the comfortable establishment defends perps, and I agree that’s ungodly to maintain that status quo. I wasn’t attacking anyone, I was asking questions. If the Spirit convicts us when we ask ourselves those questions, then we should repent. And if not, then good.

Not going to comment on the situation, but man is it disappointing to see leadership in the church duck and weave around topics when friends are involved.
It’s amazing to see how many respond with judgement still. If your still living without realizing you had the same seed of sin as Mike Bickle you will still judge him not realizing all His sins have truly been dealt with on the cross. Does this mean he should not receive the judgements of the Lord in being found out ? No but most of what we see in the church today is a murderous spirit wanting revenge and a calling for his head. As far as I can see my owns sins even the sins he has dealt with have been dealt with on the cross. The blood of Jesus is now saying forgive , forgive, forgive. Jesus washed the disciples feet , even Judas. Our example of purity of heart is our Lord Jesus .
Yeah I hear you. I really do. People don’t realize they would do the exact same thing as soon as they got a little taste of empowerment. Because they already do the exact same thing with little secret sins. However. That does not stop me or others from crying out for his public removal and disgrace. He can crawl back in to the Kingdom in last place. And hey, if he humbles himself, he might even get there before a lot of us. When you are preying on the innocent and vulnerable, we are coming for your head. By “we” I mean anyone who is aligned with the good, the true, and the beautiful. And we can’t let the fact that we have all sinned stop us from calling out for justice. And I agree mercy triumphs over judgement. And I have more mercy in my heart than 99% of Christian pastors (literally, I’m not bragging. All it takes is rejecting the doctrine of ECT and affirming all things will be restored in Christ). But there is still room for judgement. Paul says we judge all things. Jesus said we judge with right judgement. And he also said not to judge. How do we make sense of that? I don’t know, we need better English words and revelation for how to decisively show the difference Again, I hear you completely. The vampires in the church who lurk until they can pounce with religious judgement are going to have a rough awakening when they come face to face with their own sin.
I‘ve yet to read a comment that judges MB straight to hell. Thou shall not judge is not the 11th commandment. All people ask for is for him to take responsibility, which he refuses to do. According to this logic, Paul shouldn‘t have wrote what he wrote to the Galatians, because he was judging their actions. And I highly disagree with the sentiment that everybody will abuse that kind of power once they get it. Perhaps there is a connection between abusive environments, mega church leaders and narcissism, but that would make the whole scheme fall apart…
Frank Viola’s book Reimagining Church exposes the institutional church! We need to ALL be engaged in the Body- not just the wolves in sheeps clothing that manipulate! Follow Jesus not man!
It’s wrong not to speak up and “just pray.” I absolutely disagree with Brown here… he doesn’t understand this generation and how they use social media to process. People’s testimonies are important. Use discernment. The only way TH came out is because Tammy Woods spoke up and Jane Doe spoke up… we can have experiences and also related information about the leadership of ELT and Mike Bickle… calling one another out is vital and important.
So true, God has raised up many prophetic voices in this hour with a heart for restoration to expose the darkness in places like IHOP-KC. Dr. Brown, it is very important to humble ourselves and LET THE PROPHETS SPEAK! - 1 Corinthians 14:29 ❤ 🙏
I just wonder…. If all of humanity’s (the church?) issues (dare I mention Israel?) and corruption sins are not addressed but quieted and ONLY prayed about, I wonder if Brown would say that is what should be done? He should stop his own podcast… stop his radio or book writing and speaking!!! For heavens sake! That is unless only he has worthy things to say????
Dr. Brown’s entire commentary is an essay in arrogance. Eric Gilmour just doesn’t seem too analytical at all. Not prone to any kind of wisdom. How can he be so easily led? Essentially they say You are to shut up while they speak. A PhD in near eastern languages did not give Brown the least advantage in understanding what the Bible says. It only made him an obfuscator of simple truth, and a defender of that which is evil. Dr. Brown, clean it up and repent.
Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. This is the will of God. If there is no forgiveness then the enemy will be having even more prisoners. There is no vision or goal except the preaching the word of God.
