Seandainya mesin ini bisa bekerja di sawah basah seperti di Indonesia, pasti banyak yg suka

The thing I found with Hitachi.... Always seem to be well balanced.... You loosing a bit of reach but the balance is better and that's what I find let's jcb down, I find them too front heavy... Anyway that's my personal feeling, and I do prefer the pipes on the outside of the boom. Much easier to replace /repair

Fantastic review, thanks. If you ever get the opportunity to rent a similar-sized Kubota, please film a review of that too!

I purchased a brand new 2005 Ditchwitch MX272 made by Komatsu a PC27 size machine rebranded with the DW decals. Great tractor, kept it and sold my other mini's. Actually, it has run cheaper than my 2) John Deere 35zts.

How does the Takeuchi tb225 compare? I’m about to by one!

    • @Olliegunns
      @Olliegunns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

The tb225 is a bit of an odd one really, sat right in between the weight range of a 1.5 (now seem to be 1.9t) machine, and a 2.7t which is where the rest of the competition sit around. I haven't used one in anger but have had a play. I found the Takuchi to drive as they all do, a bit slower than the competition but butter smooth. Cabs are basic but its width reducing tracks and general size make it very manoeuvrable, almost as good as a 1.5t but with more digging power. It will also be a bit easier to tow and will keep you under 3.5t even with a breaker, and all the buckets on the trailer with it. And residual values are class leading, so you cant go wrong with one really. I just find them a bit boring?

Bit tight in there but we rum 5 tonne hitachi and is brilliant

I haven't tried the 5t. I liked Hitatchi's older 3t but this model is off the mark in my opinion.

Hitatchi/john deer minis are same machine.
I rented a JD 60 and asked the guy at the rental company. He took me out to the machine and opened engine compartment where sone paint was flaked off and it was hitachi orange

We don't get John Deer machines in the UK for some reason. Interesting to know they are Hitachi underneath.

Towable ? Even a 40Ton D11 cat dozer are towable with the right equipment and definitely would not recommend you tow something that heavy and or in that truck class. Stick with the mini's that I'm sure is all you could handle if that.

Let's base whether we buy a kubota u27 over a Hitachi u26 on the fact its got a better cup holder and you can see the fuel in front of you 😂🤣😂. Brilliant!! We'll not bother with power, performance and being able to fit into tight spaces. Nah we don't want to base this review on what it's actually made to do, which Is dig and how well it performs under load 😂. In regards to the dig depth, it's 2.73m (not sure if quick hitch is included) according to specs not 2.6. If you want to dig slightly deeper then just dig the machine down slightly deeper for the sake of 100-200mm. The longer the arm on these zero tail swing machines the more unstable they get and this compromises their lifting capabilities. As I've always stated, its no good reaching something if you haven't got the power to pull it out or lift it. Hitachi have always had/got bags of power and maintained this! This is evident when lifting, I've not used or seen any other machine/s spec (in this respective class) lift the same amount in the same parameters as these hitachi's (the design of the boom on the arm for example). Whenever machines are designed for being able to lift at higher lifting heights it compromises on their digging depths, fact! Same with the zx19u's. You don't get people stating these facts which are handy if you are wanting to move bulk bags of aggregate around, as well as loading them up at reasonable heights - these machines can do that. These machines are good all rounders, they'll never be quite as good, spec wise as conventional tail swing machines but they're not supposed to be (they haven't got as much counterweight on the back). When people compare them to older machines they forget how compact and space saving these machines are and have been designed this way for. You should do a video/review on lifting capabilities between the Hitachi and kubota and see which one comes out on top. That may change your view/opinion of it, by basing it on power and performance rather than mirrors and extra couple of inches in arm length etc...... Although an extra couple of inches is always handy 😉.
Also how many other brands of excavator use kubota diggers as their own and just rebrand... As mentioned before John deere, airman, probably others that use Hitachi machines and just stick their badge/logo on - that must mean they must be crap then .....

Hi Nik, as always views are as I see it and I enjoy a conversation about machines - its my passion. But I don't just judge this on its cup holder! I also mention the hydraulics not being as smooth as the Kubota (something Hitachi are known for getting spot on usually!) but powerful. Unfortunatly the job I had it for wasnt ideal for really giving it a good work out, but you get a feel for a machine after a few mins.
However, the door hitting the mirror, the sticker telling you not to open the windscreen with the window open as contact can occur? This isn't a good machine by Hitachi in my opinion. They make some good ones, but there's work to do to catch up with the U27 in this class. Unless you are a Hitachi dealer? I'd be more than happy to try out other machines your range, nobody pays me to do this, I hire them on my jobs and enjoy comparing the different brands to give my viewers an idea what its like to actually operate this kit in anger. I look forward to trying more Hitachi's

@@Olliegunns Hi Ollie, I repect your view but what I can't respect is the fact of an unfair review based on mainly aesthetics. I am a contractor (I also hire my machines out) like yourself, not a Hitachi dealer nor am I a kubota fan boy and I base my reviews on results! Diggers are also my passion like yourself (hence viewing the TH-cam reviews) and I tell it how it is on machines. I have used numerous different kubota's over the years. My thoughts on kubota's are as follows- the 3tonne machines are fine and seem to do the job at hand although never lifted anything substantial with any kubota models in this class. Everything below that I have found to be underpowered/gutless and pathetic to be honest, to the point a good friend of mine that hires them out as started to switch to takeuchi in that category. You've already stated in the video that the kubota would have trouble pulling through a heap of type 1... I have found this also to be the case particularly in the 1.5tonne class, (state again underpowered and problems with the flow on a new machine trying to multitask!) so I ask why? You've said you've not tested in anger, so test it.... Dont base it on flattening grass and a few weeds. I base it on whether I can get a dozen bulk bags from one end of the site to the other without having to barrow them, which I've found no kubota will do comfortably. See if the ditching bucket stops when trying to pull through a heap of type 1 on this Hitachi or the 19u's. I should upload a video on what the 19u's will lift and see if even the kubota 3 tonner can do the same with the disadvantage of a longer arm... Do some more research, watch a couple of videos over in the states of lifting capabilities with John deere machines (Hitachi) against your beloved kubota and tell me the facts are wrong.... People don't always use them for digging, depending on their work, like logging for example, and having a 6 tonner (deere) against a 6 tonner (kubota) with a 3700lb log, see if the kubota's hydraulics can hold out at full reach and then see about the John deere (Hitachi), see if there's a flow problem.... I have found this to be the case throughout the Hitachi range and as stated previously they are good all rounders. The fact that you'd even mentioned that the kubota's have trouble pulling through type 1 discredits it along with Cat machines the same size, maybe there's too much with safety valves stopping the machine from getting damaged but this doesn't help getting the job done! Ultimately that's what it's about. Wonder which one would win if you had both lined up and set them tasks to do in a certain time frame. There's a reason you don't see many competitions like that with Hitachi's involved, why would bobcat, yanmar want to include Hitachi to be shown up in certain categories?? Use it in anger, then come back to me... Try lifting some bulk bags with one or a 19u with a chain around the bucket. I'd be interested to know how your jcb fairs in this? Mind you looks like there's too many gadgets to go wrong with it and restrict it from lifting....

I totally agree have brought various hitachi machines over the last 15 years. The 26u is the worst one I've ever had. At least they have put a cloth seat in now, not like the plastic crap they fitted back in 2016. Complained at time of purchase but nothing done! Agree about Kubota u27 far better.

I find it remarkable how not one manufacturer makes excellent machines in all weight classes. You'd think once they've nailed one machine that it could be replicated across the range but obviously not. That's why I thought I'd start reviewing this kit as nobody else really gets down to how they all drive against other makes. And in this weight class, the Kubota is probably the one to beat when you consider the price, how it drives, its resale value and the renowned reliability.
What machine do you own now Geoff?

You would get the kubota, because you are clueless, hitachi are flawless compared to kubotas

Haha, its worse because I didn't even buy a Kubota, I actually bought a JCB!
