Love this music.Similar to Riverdance.Somewhere in Gortin there is a plaque which reads the names of firemen who rescued a family from a fire in their home. I wasn't aware of this until a story in the Ulster Herald was brought to my attention by a family member. My father's name is on that plaque. As my father was a very unassuming, modest gentleman we,my brother and I didn't know this plaque existing.Nor had we heard the story. We would have visited the Gortin Glens many times as children with our parents. As my mother used to say "we learn something every day".
Grew up in this beautiful place as a child before leaving for Australia at age 11. Such an incredible part of the world that will always be more than special to me, I wish I could visit more often.
What a lovely little town and there is plenty of room to breath. Flying like a bird is a great way to visit Ireland and yes it is true that it merits being called the Emerald Isle. One thing that I find surprising is that there is no SNOW and this video was taken in the month of February. Global warming I guess. :)
