M series are probably one of the best cat loaders in a long while, but they do like cooking their front axles...
No idea why he’s got to travel too a different post code to grab the material. Being bounced about. I feel his pain as a fellow shovel operator! I’d be smoothing that floor out.

I kept stuff smoothed up because I'm too old to be hammered. I know how you feel because I ran the old square hoods, the 'G's and 'H's. They've got an 'M' now. I'd like the wobble stick but the short turn wheel was just fine.
Yeah it's nicer when it is all smooth ;)
But when you have other wheelloaders, dumpers and trucks driving around at the same time, it is not easy..
I like the new joystick steering they have, the best on the marked i think, but yeah the old short turn wheel was also nice, when you learnt to drive with it :)
I never had a problem with the short wheel as running the old square hooded 980 with the 'orbital' out of it and you could crank for a while and it'd do nothing. I used the wobble stick on the 115 and it was all right but if I ever needed to really get on with it I flipped the stick back and grabbed the suicide knob on that wheel. I spent a lot of time cleaning settling ponds out and slopping that junk all over. I scraped it back up too. They growled but I kept on scraping it up. Guess they got tired and quit. Ran a 966 and a 950-something with rear steer. Interesting. The 66 was sweet but the brakes were about non. Such pay the bills though.
Nice. i run a 980 H a newer one. I work at sand mine. Mine has half of a steering wheel. Mine as the f/w and shift on the steering wheel. First loader i ever ran was a 950. I thought it was big. My backup load is a 982.

Heavy machines like this are built with a safe gard preventing them from stopping suddenly
Started my new job about 6 weeks ago QLD, Australia in chinese 980H, short wheel steer and joystick for crowd, bucked etc. Absolutely fucked, hate it

how do you compare this to a 220H?. on both our H the weight and fueltank have fallen to the ground stopping the mahines dead for days. quality right there lol.
It was only a demo machine, so can't compare long term with the Volvo's.
But i like the joystick steering better on the Cat and also the bucket control's, i have more feeling in both on the Cat i think.
Ride wise the Volvo is the smoothest on them and also the best when it come's to noise in the cab.
I'd like the wobble stick too, close to the short turn wheel. Nice setup.
I always found the CAT loaders I ran had a slight "delay" in the bucket controls compared to when I ran a Volvo, Deere, or Komatsu. Do you notice this in the M series as well? Last I was on was a K series.
Seems to me that all electric over hydraulic had a little lapse. I like the old manual stuff but that's mostly gone.

This gotta be the same gravel pit as the two with the excavator loading brown gravel right?? What's the purpose of mixing the gravel, what does that do when you mix gravel with dirt??
So that’s a ballast mix depending on the size of the stone being mixed with the sand. We make 0/20 ballast which is normally 1:1 sharp sand & 4/20

It looks worse than it is, most operators don't feel all the bouncing when they are driving :)
The air seats and ride control help a lot too.

Kieran Howell where I work we have 2 980K and 4 980H loaders. I stay away from the K because they are so bouncy! However, the K has a STUPID amount of power
