Early in Season One, I remember she didn't have a pamphlet for 'how to be popular,' when Quinn and Finn came seeking advice after they lost their status upon joining glee. I guess 'cause she only has pamphlets for sad problems. Haha
I just realized that Blaine was right in 5x16 he IS insecure. When he found out that Kurt was texting a guy, it was one of his fears that's he's moving on, therefore reminding him that Kurt is going away. Blaine cheated on him out of loneliness, trying to fill in what Kurt made him feel. It didn't work. When they broke up in 6x01 Kurt was saying that he can't do this and they need to move on. Blaine did that. With Dave, which wasn't really the best option, yet Dave was compassionate on his[Blaine's] feelings for Kurt. Blaine got depressed for a while back in s4 but he got past it, but in s6 it seemed like he couldn't get over it.
0:42 I love how she hides the pamphlet. It's the little unspoken jokes like this that make the show epic. And my god is there anything Emma doesn't have a pamphlet for?
Darren is so adorably extra. And oh my god it's like he has built-in puppy dog eyes that make him look extra freaking cute! I just feel like wanting to hug him every time Darren made that face
This will always break my heart, coz Blaine was right, Kurt completely neglected Blaine when he was in New York, I think the writers forgot this scene even happened
Kurt didn't neglect Blaine. Kurt found a job, he wouldn't have time to answer every single call from Blaine. He didn't work before, he could answer any time of day.
LMFAO. No, he didn't neglect Blaine. He lived his life, was in a new city in a new level of education and was focused. It's long distance, you won't talk all the time. It was no excuse to cheat and no excuse for Blaine being a douchebag. Blaine alway had issues. He was clingy and couldn't really hack it away from Kurt and then in NY when Kurt was doing better. Like the relationship, the Klaine-shippers are a bit delusional and slightly toxic. Just saying.
While I agree that there was no excuse for the cheating, I was rewatching the early season 4 episodes last night and realized that I think a lot of people forget the actual details of the lead up to The Breakup. Kurt was busy, yes, but it IS true that he wasn't exactly being a great boyfriend either. He acknowledged at one point over the phone that it was frustrating for him not getting to talk as much as well, but then immediately cut his conversation with Blaine short so that he could chat with a coworker at Vogue who "always has the best gossip." And when he WOULD get the time to talk with Blaine, Blaine was happy to hear about his successes but every time he tried to mention at all that he was having a tough time adjusting to being at McKinley without Kurt, Kurt would end up changing the subject or talking over him. It's completely understandable that he was getting settled into his new life and didn't have a ton of time, but it really was the case that Kurt also wasn't *trying* particularly hard to make sure that Blaine was doing okay also. And Brittany and Santana were a direct comparison: Brittany, too, was feeling lonely and having a tough time without Santana, and Santana was genuinely really busy as well. But Santana was at least really trying to make sure that she was still giving Brittany as much of her time as she could: in her case, since she was going to school closer to home, she made sure to come home every few weeks to see her. And even then, it was still really rough on Brittany, and Santana *realized* this, and recognized that despite her best efforts she couldn't be a great girlfriend to Brittany while she was so busy, which is why she broke it off before anything went south. Now again, by no means am I saying that it was rational or right for Blaine to cheat, but it boggles my mind a little that people are SO quick to call Blaine "clingy" and act as though there was nooooo basis whatsoever for him having felt like Kurt was pulling away, and yet I've never heard a single person suggest that Brittany was being clingy when she was going through a hard time with Santana not being there. And bare in mind, Blaine had even MORE reason to be having a hard time, since he'd switched schools and basically changed his whole life up to be closer with Kurt in the first place! Not that it wasn't ultimately his own choice, but nevertheless, it's understandable that that feeling of "my whole life is different now and the person I made it different for isn't here anymore" would come up. So yeah... while Blaine's resorting to cheating was NOT okay, that doesn't mean that the reasons behind him reaching that point were just that he was "being clingy" or that he was some douchebag who only wanted everything to be about him. Kurt was in no way responsible for Blaine cheating, but apart from that, he wasn't being a great partner in his relationship. Blaine should have come to NY BEFORE cheating to talk it out, but his feelings were valid.
The way this scene goes from talking about finger snapping, and tan hands to a heartfelt confession about how he is scared to lose Kurt...damn you Glee 😭😭😭😭😭
Most realistic too, people expect them to be perfect but no relationship is perfect, they struggle but they find a way back to each other, and that's what I love about them
Blaine is like a character that rants about his relationship problems more than the ones that are bigger than his relationship. "You like this guy..." "I feel *insecure* around you." But the way he complains about Kurt is screaming the problems we dont get to see that we would like to see.
I wouldn’t say so. His insecurities were the problem in their relationship most of the time. Started here and went on for 3 more seasons and in the later seasons there wasn’t an Emma to do relationship counseling for them lol
This is why I tend to treat everything past season 3 as some sort of mediocre fanfiction, interesting to read/watch and it has the characters we love and has some good moments, but overall it’s not nor will ever be as good as the original.
yeah i still love klaine and there’s still some post season 3 moments that make me smile (like the proposal and the brittana/klaine wedding) but they went downhill really quick :/
This is the first of two conversations that Kurt and Blaine have at the end of season three where Blaine shows concern about what long distance will mean for their relationship and Kurt dismisses his concerns and promises nothing will change. It is no wonder Blaine got so insecure about their relationship in Season four. Everything Blaine was afraid would happen, happened, even though Kurt promised him multiple times that it wouldn’t. I think if Kurt has not been in denial about what moving to New York would mean for their relationship and honestly talked about Blaine’s concerns the events of season four would not have happened.
For sure! This scene, from a writing perspective, is very much foreshadowing for the future. Every single thing they talked about came to pass. They didn't communicate well (mainly cuz they were just teenagers) through their relationship coming into s4 and during s4 which really pushed everything to where it ended up.
Anyone remember when Emma was just the weird guidance counselor who had a creepy crush on Will? Who knew she would become a big part of the show and people would love her and find her funny? Only asking because I am one of the people that loves her
Blaine: *It's like you can't wait to get out of here!* Kurt, who was literally bullied for years and was assaulted by his former bully from "here": *...* Edit: Season 6 stated that Kurt was bullied a year before he joined Glee Club, plus that transfer was before the prom insident I mean sure he liked Glee Club, but Ohio for him was a different story
That does not really apply when you consider that he left once and chose to go back as soon as his new school lost the regionals competition. Also, there has been no evidence that he has been bullied at all this season. The last known instance was the season two prom episode.
I understand Blaine so much, he feels like he is loosing Kurt, the love of his life, and he is so scared and insecure. This of course doesn't excuse him for cheating on Kurt, but I'm also so sad for him and I think Kurt and Blaine should have worked more on their issues before Kurt's leave. They bouth weren't ready for it and maybe if they had solved the problems better all would have worked good. It's so sad😔 Ok I'll stop being depressed now because I'm being annoying, sorry😅
We shouldn’t also ignore how Kurt ignored Blaine. The Skype calls and the hang ups contributed because instead of Kurt letting Blaine say what he wanted to say he only talked about himself. The number one problem of Klaine is communication (and also for every relationship). Kurt flirting with another guy because Blaine doesn’t and Blaine cheating because he feels ignored by Kurt are caused by their lack of communication. If both Kurt and Blaine let each other share what was on their mind, the cheating debacle would have not happened.
Theory: I recon Blaine was never upset about the texts. He had to be happy for Kurt going to New York and be supportive, but of course deep down he was worried and sad and he was using the texts as an excuse to lash out and tell Kurt how he feels about him leaving
Well in the text he was making plans with the other guy.and that's why I think he cheated first but just never told lane that he did.i mean he made the plans and never cancelled them.
Yeah they never did. The whole skype thing so much for that kurt. Congrats kurt, you’re the sole reason why both of you broke up because you felt the need to only talk about yourself instead of listening to Blaine.
Everybody is always labeling Blaine as the bad guys but I don't really think he is. Kurt didn't really pay a lot of attention to Blaine when he was in New York and I kind of get why he looked for affection elsewhere (JUST LIKE KURT DID WITH CHANDLER) but then Blaine was labeled as the bad guy even when he felt guilty and apologized after being honest with Kurt and telling him about his mistake. Honestly, they both messed up but I'm glad they ended up together.
what makes me sad about this scene is because everything blaine talks about happening; aka losing kurt to new york ends up happening the next season. he was right the entire time.
I've always said that Klaine was the couple that was always one step ahead of everyone else, and its this scene I like to use to prove my point. Before Emma can even suggest what step they should take next, they're already doing it!
