Yes you are right. If husband is living in adultery, wife can ask huge compensation. But that doesn't mean you have to fulfill every demands of wife. Yes she can file 498a but AB bail is available to husband easily

Husband has to pay maintenance to his wife even if his wife remarriage .Husband cannot proof if his wife remarriage, courts never pass order to enquire as wife has personal right of privacy. This should not be allowed in India unless a divorce is taken from the husband or wife.Actually there should be a punishment for such a married partner who goes away to stay with someone else.Otherwise marriage has no value.

This matter is totally meaningless nowadays when suprime court has abolished IPC 498 of Adultery act ...suprime court has revised the adultery act in 2018 and since 2018 adult & married women are free from adultery act and adultery is declared no more offence since 2018 , it means if any man develop sexual relationship with any women cant be any offence as per 2018 suprime court judgement.
