Completely agree. Irix lenses are heavily underrated. We use them on our corporate shoots like you mentioned (21mm and 45mm to be exact) on OG RED Komodos. The clinical look can be messed around with in post, and also mentioning with the REDs, the minor color shift between the two can be matched after filming. For a little over $1K each, you can't beat the quality per dollar, and when we researched them awhile back our team was surprised how little information was out about these lenses. Thanks for adding one to that brother, keep 'em coming.
I've been using the 30mm and 45mm for over a year, they're fantastic. I had the Meike 50mm before but wanted something just a bit wider, and the Irix is faster too. I bought Irix's magnetic VND specifically for their lenses and it works great too
@@KofiYeboah It's worth it for the VND. I got the CPL as well and they stack but I didn't find they worked well together, the CPL would introduce too warm a colour shift when it was rotated

I know they cover full frame, but i think their focal lengths are aimed at s35 sensors. When you multiply them by the crop factor of an apsc camera they are more normal.
@@KofiYeboah i guess I mean apsc crop?... 1.5x. So the 11mm would be closer to a 16mm, the 15 is close to a 24, 30 is close to a 50, 45 isn't quite 85mm - but that was my point.
@@redbeardproductions-kevind9806 ahh, that makes a bit more sense, thats a weird way of going about it, I actually met the CEO and i didnt get an answer why the focal lengths are funny lol
Been using the 15mm for over a year, love the tank like build quality, weather proofing and clean image. But for me the focus action is a bit too stiff. It results in more wobble handheld than the equivalent Vespid if using without a follow focus. I wish mine was that little bit looser/smoother, more like the iris, which is nice. It's like they got them dialled the wrong way round (at least on the lens I have).
Oh wow, you use a lot of cine lenses. Great video and character you have on Camera Finally looks around your channel. IRIX might be the lens I get. I am looking for a bit softer with a bit of flaring without the use of filters with proper focus gears that don't drift unlike the Fujifilm lenses that drift. I use Dehancer when I want add bloom, grain onto a clean image. If not use to filters it can sometimes be risky. I work with an actor that pays me to film, edit and take care of the audio. Sure my X-S20 isn't a major work horse but I can get some good footage despite being cheaper, actually kind of fun to use camera (with updated firmware, use to have some nasty issues).
@@KofiYeboah And hope you get well soon. I found which lenses you mean "Ironglass" look nice compact. Look forward to watching when you have the review up... never seen such compact cine type lenses before. If good hopefully they make for Fuji X mount. If not I'll still check out your video to support your work.
z@@ScreenStaticStudios I personally would stay away from 7Artisans, I have well had the 35, and it literally came unscrewed and fell apart randomly. Never dropped the lens, and I tend to be careful with my gear too.
@SeeingTony ooo that's good to know. I was leaning that way because I had seen people say the 7artisans were sharper that the Sirui, but I haven't really seen anything too negative about Sirui
No joke, I traded my Tamron 35-150mm for 2 IRIX lenses a couple weeks ago and I was so scared because I couldn’t find any main stream vids about it and then out of no where all my fav TH-cam Guys started posting about it 😂🙏🏽

great video, wanted to like it twice. BUT you audio drops at 6:23 - 7:49 pretty noticable (maybe 4dB or so), the segment was fine visually and content wise tho. Keep it up!
They're (IMO) the best budget cinema lens you can buy. Have the production set and they're amazing. My 21 has had the housing come lose a few times which sucks but the others have been solid.
Yeah I'm going on like 2 years with mine, (bought it on release so however long that is) but it did happen very quickly, but like I said none of the other lenses have that issue.@@KofiYeboah
Im surprised no company has developed lenses that comes with a mist effect built in. Therefore it's 'cinematic' out of the box with no filters etc to get the effect. For creators dedicated to that pro mist effect look in their footage
Dude, love the way you worked in footage from the lenses into your sponsor clips, genius!
I concur!
Thanks man !

I bought a used IRIX 21mm. One of the best lenses in my collection.

Idk, if s35 is around 1.33, the 21 is like a 28, and the 45 is like 60 which are strange too 😅

So many options now. Trying to pick the cine lenses to pair with the FX30 I just got is a good problem to have.
