Covenant Eyes thank you for sharing the e-book link and I just read it and found it quite fascinating. From what I had mentioned and what and I had both agreed was that pornography is nothing more than legalized prostitution. There from what I had read is that there are similarities such as the coercion, trafficking, pimps ( although in pornography they are called pornographers ), and the children as well as drug and alcohol use and sex acts that were not agreed to a.k.a rape and violence. Just like the prostitute, the average porn star usually comes from a really unhealthy family situation and end up in foster care or on the street end up looking for ways to make easy money
Annette They're two different things both of which I think should be legal. Porn - Sex with actors. Prostitution - Sex with clients. Porn - Sex with a paid subscription. Prostitution - Sex on visit by visit basis. Porn - Done for entertainment. Prostitution - Done for pleasure. Porn - Staged. Prostitution - Not staged. So calling for legalization for both on the grounds that they're the same is stupid cause they're not. Calling for legalization for both on the grounds that it's consenting adults and legalizing prostitution could reduce the sexual slave trade is smart. Once again both should be legal.
I have read some yolos comments saying "there's nothing wrong with porn", basing their moral on bullocks. Porn is actually worse. Prostitution is discreet and realistic, men can actually achieve it in real life. On the other hand porn has gone out of control, promoting every thinkable fetish out there, normalizing hypersexuality, bringing sexuality into public and available to watch by minors. And if a pornstar is actually reading this comment who believe they don't have a choice, or the others who believe they are "professional entertainers" whoever told you this in a first place is taking you for a fool. And to others who do porn this because they worship sex or have an addiction, EVERY human being can control themselves. You might live in the now but long term it is harmful both for yourself and the society you live in.

nah I disagree I would say both are just as bad as each other because married people men or women go to prostitutes which is wrong, also the prostitutes aren't genuine they say shit like your handsome I like you so they can only get your money and get you to come back for more. Also prostitutes are very expensive and charge a lot more than porn.
I think it is about trafficking money flow. To make pornography you have to have licences. And you pay the taxes. For prostitution it is almost always private and anonymous to the third party (government)
Prostitution and porn aren't the same thing. 1. Prostitution is a hooker having sex with a client, porn is 2 or more actors having sex. 2. Prostitution is hardly ever filmed, porn is always filmed. 3. Prostitution doesn't have subscriptions, porn does. I think they should both be legal btw.
1) why cant a hooker and a client be actors? The definition of an actor means a "person who portrays a character in a performance." If they act while having sex in a camera, doesn't that make them actors? Just make up a story line before prostitution and they will be actors no doubt. 2)then film it. 3)wtf does that mean?
1. Yeah but they're not actors. One's a customer and the other one is a hooker. They can't be actors if the hooker is just providing a service rather than 2 people mutually having sex for a film. 2. Prostitution shouldn't be filmed just to meet your definition. I mean it's a pretty private matter for instance. 3. A subscription to porn is a payment plan for viewing the porn. For example pay 50 dollars a month to get access to these porn videos. If the 2 subjects have different motives and contexts then they aren't the same thing.
Fell Man brah stop gettin technical wit tha shit. They both giving uo they pussy for some dollars... Thats like saying pimps are bad but porn directors are good
solidlikeamf Don't get technical with this shit? Then why even make a comparison? Why say "They're both the same thing bruh!" if you're not going to get into definitions?
This is an incredibly flawed argument because they aren't the same. Here are the differences between the two. 1. Porn is actors having sex with actors, prostitution is prostitutes having sex with clients. 2. Porn is inherently public, prostitution doesn't have to be. 3. Porn is staged, prostitution isn't. 4. Both have different business models. And even if they were the same that wouldn't even matter. What matters is this: 1. Does a person have a right to sell their own body? 2. If "Yes" what are the consequences of not letting them do so? 3. If "No" what are the consequences of letting them do so? This is what's important because you're analyzing if an act is moral rather than arbitrarily comparing various styles of that act. I think both should be legal.
Wrong! Both are prostitution because in both cases sex workers are getting paid for having sex with different people for money. - “Porn is actors having sex with actors, prostitution is prostitutes having sex with clients.” You are arguing the silliest examples and semantics rather than arguing why porn and prostitution are not the same thing, for the sake of justifying the trivial fact that porn is legal prostitution by another name. First of all, pornography is not define as actors having sex with actors. Pornornography is defined as printed or visual material containing the explicit description or display of sexual organs or activity, intended to cause stimulation. Also, the root word of pornography is prostitution. It means record of prostitute’s life. Secondly, porn is not "acting” if it includes sexual acts such as oral and penetration. Because this indeed involve real sex for financial benefit, which is the definition of prostitution. The main aim is sex for material benefit. And Lastly, porn stars are not actors. They are legal sex workers being paid to have sex on film. There is a difference between actual penetration and acting as if you are being penetrated. Ones an act the other is intercourse. - “Porn is inherently public, prostitution doesn't have to be.” Prostitution is actually the mother of all paid sex forms, which also includes pornography. Because pornography is one type of paid sex. So regardless of whether a camera is involved or not is irrelevant. The question was is porn the same as prostitution and the answer is yes. When a person involve sex in exchange for money. That by definition is called prostitution. - “Porn is staged, prostitution isn't” They are both sex work that involve sexual acts in exchange for money. You can sugarcoat it all you want. That doesn't negate the fact that porn is legal prostitution by another name. Prostitution is the practice or occupation of engaging in sexual activity with someone for payment. Therefore, a person getting paid to have sex with another person on film is the same as a streetwalker but just on camera. The ONLY difference is legality. Porn is filmed for commercial distribution and it is perfectly legal for a pornstar to be filmed and paid for their service. Whereas it is illegal for a street walker to accept money in exchange for sex. That's where you should have argued. Nevertheless, porn is still legal prostitution by another name.
@@pollymars3776 You're not listening I know porn is real but it's they're called porn actors or porn stars because they are involved in the roles of a porn film. Porn is staged because they decide what sex positions must be in the film. Also if the business model is different then the two types of sex work are different as well period. Porn doesn't have to have pay btw since they're just porn of couples fucking which is usually referred to as amateur porn. Prostitution inherently involves cash. Look the point is, they should both be legal.
@@Cacowninja “You're not listening” Because your definition of a prostitute is based on your subjective perception of what YOU want the word to mean, who it applies to and who it doesn't. When in reality you don’t define words however you please, the dictionary does, and the dictionary defines Prostitute as “a person, who engages in sexual activity for payment.” Both a common prostitute (common prostitute) and porn performer fits that description. So why would I listen to your baseless ignorant comments?
@@Cacowninja “I know porn is real but it's they're called porn actors or porn stars because they are involved in the roles of a porn film.” That doesn't negate the fact that they are prostitutes, they are not actors. Yours is a bias ideology. You're overlooking the fact that porn stars are engaging in an act of paid sex for the pleasure of others, which is the very motive of prostitution and when people are hired to perform sexual acts in front of the camera in exchange for money it is prostitution. No matter how you try and justify why porn stars are not prostitutes because of this reason or that reason you can't negate the fact that selling your body in exchange for money is still prostitution. The type of porn these sex workers do is legal prostitution by another name because you are making money by doing sexual acts. There is nothing wrong with that. The latin roots of 'pornography' literally translate to "pictures of prostitutes" so in my mind they are the same thing in different forms.
