Elders in the arab world are almost sacred....the more white-haired yu get the more you're respected and honoured.....we are both patriarchal and matriarchal cultures and elders have the biggest status in society ....it comes from Islam where parents are highly respected...
The Quran says:

If you are there, you'd be surprised how you will feel compelled to move your butt to the beat and join in with the. dance. It sucks you in. It's almost like you can't help it. It gets in your heart and soul. There is no way you will stand still. Yala, yala, yala!

It's so fun to be a TH-cam "fly on the wall" and to be able to observe all these beautiful cultures with their wonderful traditions. It is a joy to watch this dance!

Wow . First time watching Dabka . That older boy in the grey trousers and white shirt who dances on the chair half way through - my word , that man can move some . He's about my age and I didn't think he was going to get up from one of those drops but he did it with style . All respect to him . Going to have to polish up my own act after watching this
