Ereshkigal and Inanna are sisters. There is a mythos regarding them as the sisters of Heaven and the Earth and Hell and the Underworld. One of the most famous mythos is that of Inannas descent to the Underworld to go save her sister Ereshkigal whom she had condemned to be punished by being hung on a meat hook. The Journey to the Dark Goddess from this original mythos has echoed through many traditions in regards to working with dark goddesses in womb spaces (i.e., caves, underworld, any container of energy). Ereskigals Greek equivalent is Hekate.
The art work is beautiful! I wonder if the book goes into an explanation of the choices of symbolism. And I also wonder if there is a reason for the differentiation of maiden/mother/crone. I do wish the crones were represented as crones; that is, if they were older women, as all the goddesses are represented as relatively. young.
The art on this is STUNNING! I passed on it because I typically dont work with these kinds of decks and the few that I do have just sit... I may have to get this one though. I hope they do a Gods Deck in the same fashion! It would be great to have a set.
It looks like a really substantial deck, with the guidebook itself being a good old read!! The quality of it is what you’d expect from an indie deck! Not for me but very impressive xx
The Morrigan's triple aspects may be sisters or counterparts, she doesn't have Maiden, Mother & Crone functions as there is no reference to this in Irish tradition.
@@fern463 I know there are a lot of traditionalist and reconstruction style paths to the Celtic path and with the Morrigan specifically. I share what I know from my personal connection to her. There's a big division in the belief over a triple aspect, or sister aspect, but texts about her in mythos is hard to come by. Many work with her in a triple, and many do not. I respect how you see her and have a personal relationship with her, though (:
@@Amber.Catalyst Hi Amber, thanks for your comment that I've only just seen. Yes, there are many differing approaches which is absolutely fine of course ! It's just when some of these perspectives are presented as actual historical fact when they are no where to be found within the texts & lore. It can often mislead & confuse at times which is a shame. Robert Graves in his book The White Goddess preposed the idea of MMC in the 1940's, it was completely part of his own musings though it has resonance with some people today. It's important (for me at least) to understand the source and context of information, to distinguish between somebody's personal gnosis and what is understood from historical research and tradition. If you do want to look at historical texts about the Morrigan in Irish mythology then check out the Irish Pagan School, they provide a ton of free info ... I totally respect your personal relationship with her also and I write all this in the spirit of good will (:
@@fern463 Myth is just a group of people's personal gnosis. Everything is personal gnosis. All of human experience is subjective. History is an amalgamation of lies and programming. That's what the Morrigan taught me.
@@Amber.Catalyst No doubt there are distortions within history. It matters that modern inspiration isn't presented as ancient pagan practice. Gnosis is valid but let's be clear about its source ... As this is Simon's TH-cam page I feel I should bow out of the conversation now, thanks for engaging.
Quase perfeito esse oráculo! Não entendo porque a carta 31, que é a representação da terra, tem o nome de "Anu", deus do céu. Penso que a carta representa sua consorte "Ki", deusa da terra... Poderia me esclarecer, por favor? Agradecido!
This deck sounds so interesting with two cards for each Goddess. The book looks so lovely and the cards are beautiful, such a well presented set. Another one for the ever increasing wish list 😆 I also like that we have the other two aspects of the Morrigan in Badb and Macha and of course I love that Arianrohd is there and Blodeuwedd 😍❤️
Thanks for sharing these cards. I had been interested but when I see the images of Saraswati and Laxmi I am put off since I have only previously seen modest versions of these goddesses and I feel that the artist has simply painted white faces brown. Shame, it looks like an interesting concept.

Thank you, I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us 😍
thank god finally a normal goddess oracle deck that looks like its made for adults, not kids :) This should have been released sooner
lovely deck and I love Kyle Gray's oracles, some of the most beautiful decks out there 💚

Now that would be cool.
I love the artwork, but am a little confused about the two cards for each goddess. Even so I am considering this deck for my collection.
Let me know how you get on with it! 😍
Deck is interesting looks so different with beautiful gold foil reflection I like it thanks Simon ❤️
You’re welcome 😊

I totally agree!
Interesting choice for representation on the cards
Ereshkigal is Sumerian and Inanna's sister. Badb and Macha are two aspects of the Morrigan, who is my patron and one of my patrons
It is Beautiful. Not sure how i would work with it though. I guess i would have to read the guide book to find out. Thank you Simon 💜💜💙💙
You are so welcome!
@@the_hermits_cave 💙💙💜💜
I just got this deck today
Enjoy!
Badb is the crone aspect of the Morrigan (; I pronounce it BAYVE. And Macha is the mother aspect of the Morrigan ❤

Exquisite but wish there had been a Lillith...
Gorgeous but don’t look easy to work with ,a little over complicated for me x
