Hehehe...I thought it was coming home in pieces ;-) It certainly took all the skill I posses to get it on the ground in tact. I don't know if I've ever had that wild of a ride with an aircraft. I've got it all tuned now and it's flying great. I would never have guessed that possible. See you in the Air!
This was My second plane that flew off into the national park after,, I think I accidently hit the RTH button. I have one that I cut out a hatch on top behind the motor to fit a larger battery. Ive had nothing but trouble with this plane. I pulled out the RX and fitted it into My Durafly Tundra, the fith channel works the flaps perfect and the little controller has a ton of Expo. Beauty GCRC, You wait till You fly the PhoenixS, I flew yesterday and all the other gliders in the range are tanks compared. Can't wait for Your take on it.
Hehehe...when I first performed the review of this Plane I was considering it was cursed ;-) After my 1st launch, post my repairs, I'm convinced this Plane is cursed ;-) The PhoenixS Kit arrived yesterday! After I get caught up on current projects I'm going to install all the Electronics from the Lightning V2. Should be a lot of power. I may see about using a 4S in it after the break-in period. I'm looking forward to getting that in the air this Autumn and I'll have everything setup and ready for launch.
@@GroundControlRC . I've been messing around with my volantex epoch. I've put much bigger wheels on it. Bush size. Hear you can actually can change the position of the CG doing such things. I dunno hoping it still flies okay. How do I send you pics?
@@mathewwebb522 Hey Mathew! In the terrain I have to land in the bigger the wheels the better ;-) You can post Pics on our Facebook Page or via email at info@groundcontrolrc.com The epoch is a very nice looking Plane. It reminds me of my Fun Cub 1100 and it's an awesome flying Plane ;-)
@@GroundControlRC . Thanks I'll be sure to post some pics soon of my wheel conversion. Like you I need the big wheels to land. I'm surrounded by fields but all rough ground. Also have canals near by so might give the floats a go. Keep the vids coming. Love your new big glider by the way!
@@mathewwebb522 I envy those with nice places to land don't you ;-) Yes, that Sport Glider is awesome! I think I'm hooked on Sport Gliders ;-) See you in the Air!
I’m like jack, what a roller coaster of a ride that’s was almost 3d flying, you did well to get that down in one piece. However it really is a larger version of there mini p51 however the big difference is the stock version comes with a stabiliser/ receiver in a completely different protocol to there mini version which is disappointing because the Radiomaster cannot be linked, so it’s use there toy TX or change to FlySky or some other and fly with no stabiliser which for me is a shame. I wonder why they didn’t stick with a common protocol a lot of out there would be more interested had they done so. However highly entertaining keep those videos coming.😁😁
Hey Michael! That WAS a very scary roller coaster ride ;-) If I'd totaled it on my 1st launch after repairs I'd a been sick! I agree about the protocols. I simply don't understand why these mfg think they need to invent a new protocol for every aircraft. I wish they would understand that being able to fly these aircraft with a Hobby-Grade TX will actually sell more of them. It's a real head-scratcher for me ;-) I always get the PNF just because of that reason. I'm using my 1st LemonRX Receiver in this Plane and it seems to be working very well. I know they also sell a Receiver with a Built-In Stabilizer. You might want to take a look at one of those since all of these Multi-Protocol Transmitters support DSM2/DSMX. See you in the Air!
@@GroundControlRC that’s a thought because I have a couple of those stabilised recievers, I have not used them but they seem pretty straightforward so maybe this is the plane too use one of them on. Thanks for the tip, it also reminds me that I seem to have far to much stuff! It’s a bit of an obsessive hobby.
@@michaelwheatland4565 I hope it works out for you. I thought I had too much stuff as well until I found I had run out of 6CH Receivers ;-) I ordered (3) of those LemonRX Receivers ;-)
@old4570.com That's Awesome! I do like Manual Mode on those Micro Planes since then it's unrestricted. If they would provide those Receiver / Gyro Bricks with Built-In Brushless ESCs it would be the best of both Worlds ;-)
Hi Dom! Hehehe...if you've watched my first few flights on this Plane during the Review, I had the idea this Plane was cursed ;-) This Plane is definitely Modified from it's Stock Setup. I've replaced the Motor, ESC, and Prop so I could fly this on a 3S LIPO instead of a 2S LIPO and get better performance and flight time. I also adjusted the Aileron Rigging for better more Symmetrical Rolls and I had to reinforce that weak Landing Gear. You're right, Stock, this Plane is a bit of a headache ;-) See you in the Air!
@@GroundControlRC I bought the carbon cub s2 + from horizon. I hope it will bring me more satisfaction. but currently in belgium, it is raining and there is too much wind.
Wow, I still can't believe you got that plane down in one piece on that first flight. Much nicer now.
