- Getting ready for Halloween! I really want to make a good impression on the neighbors in my new town. Not going to be a party pooper and darken my doorway. Lights on and giving out candy! Even if that is all I do for Halloween this year. My time and energy are so divided. So....I hope you enjoy this token video.

We have a few small decorations out the front. We've lived here for 3 Halloweens and finally got our first trick or treaters (not common here in Aus). I assumed we'd never get any because of our large fence and didn't even buy treats this year (thankfully we still had something for them). I've been doing it for about 5/6 years. I used to get so stressed trying to make sure I had something for any child, allergy friendly stuff and sugar free stuff. As if I was going to get hoards of children, lol. The most we ever had in one night was 5 kids. We went a couple times as kids in the early 2000's and half the people didn't have a clue what was going on. We got half finished blocks of chocolate, apples, spare change, it was still fun, I don't have kids but it's a nice memory from my childhood I want other kids to have. Nice touch with the glow sticks! 😊
Well, what a coincidence! I went to all this work making these treat bags and we didn't get one trick-or-treater. Then I decided to look down the street and realized there wasn't another single house on our block that was lit up or decorated for Halloween. How could I have missed that? I don't know what I'm gonna do for videos next year if I don't have anything to celebrate. Lol.
I must say, you had some amazing tenacity and perseverance. And it says some thing about your character that you wish to bless the children even if you don't have your own. 🥰❤️❤️❤️

Especially when you went to the effort to get something together when you've been dealing with moving into your new home. It was such a nice gesture to be thinking of the kids in your new neighbourhood during a personally stressful time.

Love the crinkling sound and the lovely setting. We have set up a graveyard in our front yard with spiderweb lights. My husband will project onto three pumpkins we bought at a pumpkin patch and the kids love it! the projection makes it seem like the pumpkins are singing and talking Jack-o-lanterns. We usually set up a picnic table on the lawn to keep our dogs from stressing with the door bell ringing and we give out candy until we run out. Sonic always has 50 cent corndogs and we will buy several for our family to munch on and our neighbor always sets up a haunted house in her garage and makes beef stew which she shares with us. Halloween is a fun time in our neighborhood. :)

The holiday of halloween is a big deal to a lot of people. The spooky element can be fun. A lot of Christians oppose halloween because it is, by nature, a celebration involving the dark side. There are many stories and theories about the origins of halloween. I think that in the long run, you really aren't missing much. Christmas is the best holiday of the year!

I'm absolutely thrilled and so, so happy to be back home again in California. I don't miss Portland at all. Seriously. I made my own haven within Tennessee though I never belonged there. My life was spent in the safe places I made for myself. House, Job with the special needs children, my husband and my channel. That was my whole world. It was a lovely world but it was utterly incomplete as I had no family, my mom passed away and I could not find friends. God blessed me and gave me comfort for all these 14 years away from home. I was happy in my own way.
This year...🥹🥹🥹 I get to spend Christmas with almost my entire family for the first time in 14 years. I cry tears of joy so often.
What I wish to convey to people is that no matter where we are and no matter what our circumstances, happiness and joy is a choice. Self pity is not an option. Our difficulties are never going to last forever. Never give up hope. 🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️
