Thanks for the upload man. I love your videos. Late 90s/early 00s were a great time in my life and your vids take me right back to that period. Love it!!

    Never got to ride it.
It is sad that it ended up like the Cannonball Run down in Gulf Shores. Both parks couldn't afford to maintain or retrack a decent coaster, so they demolished them and said it was due to park expansions... Yet no expansions ever happened.

Yep, didn't get to hit that one either. Though it's only been a couple of years with Cheetah cannonball has been gone for a bit now

I missed Cannonball Express as well. If I remember correctly, we were going to try and get to Gulf Shores to ride it the next day after this video was recorded but decided to get an early lead to visit Jazzland instead.

It does suck that they removed it the ride was possibly the best ride in the park

I remember the ride having a reputation, pretty early in its life, of being a very rough coaster. Given, I only got a couple rides on the day this video was recorded, but I didn't find it too rough and easily my favorite coaster at the park. If would have been interesting to see what would have happened if another manufacture did a complete refund on the ride.

Im bummed I never had the chance to experience this one. Was finally able to make it to the park at the end of last year and I can tell its an absolute shell of its former self.

I am glad I rode it when I did as I heard it had gotten incredible rough in its later years.

It was quite a peppy little ride. I think I on'y rode it a couple of times. It reminded me of a shorter and smaller version of Shivering Timbers in a way.

It seems quite a bit shorter than I remember it.

It was, yet pretty action packed.

Man, there's rarely any footage of the park from 2001. Got footage of anything else at the park from that time?

    • @SeanFlaharty

Unfortunately, the only other footage I recorded that day is just a couple minutes of us looking at the Vekoma Roller Skater in the park, a quick look at the splash from the larger boat ride, and a few minutes of us petting goats. Lol. We were only in the park for a limited time. We mainly came to ride Cheetah.

The fact that they tore this down completely and didn't give it the RMC treatment is sort of a surprise to me, and the first in a while.

It's not that kind of park anymore, wrong demographic

Park probably didn't have the finances or financial backing to do it.

@@OutdoorsWithShawn Maybe. It is owned by the company the owns Silver Dollar City and half of Dollywood. On the other hand, I'm not sure they really value their smaller parks.

Just found out recently on Coaster-Count I have 50 defunct credits. So of the 50, this is definitely one of them. Can’t say much else for it, hah.
Do you know how many defunct coasters you’ve been on, Sean? I’ll guess around 175.

@@railsrust not the demographic they are going after, very much a family park
