During Aswamedh yagna when a horse is offered , which part of the meat would be given to whom (Brahman , Kshatriya, Vaisya and Sudra) would be scheduled beforehand. And so many more goes on. Points to be noted , remember 14000 years ago it was a common culture and there is no need to be offended. If you don't believe me then you yourself can research on Valmiki Ramayana. We people who follow vegetarian sadhna is a fairly newer concept started from lord Buddha period when lord buddha got hurt to see animal cruelty. But that does not mean people used to be vegetarian as well. And it doesn't matter whether they used to eat meat or not , Shree Ram will be respected throughout the generations nonetheless.
