AR-88 question: Did the Soviets ever try to clone them? I know the Soviets cloned several of the 1930s RCA ham receivers like the AVR-1, AVR-5, and ACR-136.
According to the presenter Prof. Jesson and other club experts, there are no known Russian clones. Most AR-88 production was sent to England and Russia during World War II as part of the Lend Lease Act. This would seem to reduce or eliminate the need for the Russians to try to copy the design.
