This is my 3rd time rewriting this comment, in the hopes that TH-cam won't pull one of its tricks again(just in case I've made a backup of this comment lol): Hi there isán, I just wanted to say that I'm really glad that your channel popped up in my recommendations, as you tackle some of the biggest conundrums I had recently while trying to make a good language learning framework to work with. For example, I've been trying to figure out how to learn with games for a long time and made the "mistake" of always trying to do that by shifting all the flashcard-creation work at the end of a session, that is by first taking screenshots for every line of text that showed up and only after that I'd try to figure out which sentences would actually be useful. This ended up in me having over 1k pictures that I only ever gone through a couple of times. This method would theoretically work, but I didn't count how exhausting it'd actually be, so your video where you made the distinction between "extensive immersion" and "intensive immersion" really came in clutch in getting me into a more sustainable learning mindset. Furthermore, these Learning with Texts videos are like manna from heaven since I've also been trying to maximise my reading practice. Thus, I'd really like to see you either make more videos on useful programs such as this, or practical videos giving advice on creating a tenable language learning routine. Another option I could think of is to make videos exploring novel ways to learn languages, but I don't know how much you can push this idea. To finish this off, I want to recommend anyone currently reading this behemoth of a comment to include in their days ways to practice reading on the go, as I found that quite effective in familiarising myself with my target language. My pick to do this is a neat little app called dailyart, but you should obviously find something more suited to your interests and passions.
I reaaaaally like your videos as i 've been using similar tools like anki for ages, lovely opens source and all, it would be cool to have a video from you about the resoursec ie. reading websites/material /games you are using to practice german, as i am doing the same and live in Austria. This was useful when i was learning and living in china as well but its a hustle to get on decent websites
2:49 if anyone's reading this, unchecking autolaunch is more important than it seems. always uncheck it. I tried installing LWT ages ago, but EasyPHP was a big roadblock bc it just doesn't work if you autolaunch it.
i remembered to uncheck autolaunch, but it still doesn't work. everytime i enter the link, i get the message HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found. Can you help me?
@@yummydragon8533 are you sure you got the link right? might want to copy it off somewhere else. i did remember having that error but i think something in my url was slightly off. you may also want to look into other general 404 error solutions online (since there's a lack of discussion on LWT-focused ones)
@@fonder5902 i mean yeah that's why i didn't bother with it first and it never worked. i unchecked it and LWT finally worked. i even reinstalled it to double check that this was causing the issue.
@@nicoles_handle well, I downloaded it without unchecking it and it worked out fine, so I can't really think that that's the root cause of this problem. Just in case I'll double check as well, maybe my experience is an exception.
This was very helpful. Got it up and running easily. One downside I'm seeing is that it doesn't recognize different tenses of the same word, so I have to mark ayudar, and ayuda in Spanish for example. Another is that you're not able to select multi-word combos. Might have to give Lute a try.
Hi, yes it's true the first thing you said but the second one is not, you can select multi-word combos, if you write where it says new term the whole phrase you want to learn, then and then hit save it works
Thanks a lot. I follow the procedure and have no problem during the installation. One thing is that VC C++ Redistributable generally is in the system if you have downloaded some software that uses it. So first you can check in the installed programs if is already installed the VC C++ Redistributable.

I'm a mac user and got it working just fine-- the only difference I noticed is that there was no option to deselect MAMP Pro, but I was able to uninstall it afterwards. I'm excited to get some things uploaded to read and to figure out how to link LWT to Anki!
I did everything, and it seemed to be working. But when I actually did the whole server:open thing and put in the link, I got this strange page where there were just all those lwt folders and stuff… idk, I didn’t get the whole menu
One thing for those who save links to the bar on their browser, you can save the link for this program as well, this way you won't have to type it out each time (You'll still have to run the servers as far as I know tho)
What if it doesnt have .php at the end of any of them, am I able to reach out and ask for tutoring on how to do this?, I have the file but it ends in .inc, I tried with and without adding .PHP when changing the name and had no luck

The same happened to me. It doesnt connect since I turned my computer off and on again, even though I was restarting the deserver servers as we are supposed to. Did you find a solution??

I installed it to learn italian. I've added the dictionaries from the spreadsheet. I have some english text. I guess I thought it would convert my english into italian for learning purposes, but I guess that might not be the case? Do the souses I add _need_ to be in italian? Thanx.
Yes! This is a tool to read texts that are written in your target language (in your case, Italian). It lets you look up words quickly and see definitions in English, but the texts you learn from should be in Italian.

When I try to do a _Long Text Import_ it gets mad at me when I add only the PDF despite it saying either upload a file or a text (but not both). I'm guessing it doesn't read pdfs? or am I doing something wrong? it would be inefficient for me not to use a pdf although I can see how it might be a problem to read pdfs especially when there are awkward things like word hyphenation.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm not sure what that means because I haven't tried importing long texts. What's worked for me is copying each chapter from the book separately and treating it as its own text. Since I am still a beginner in German, it takes me a while to go through a chapter, so I don't have to do it too often 😅
@@yummydragon8533 Maybe you forgot to click the app first at the bottom of your screen to start the servers? Each time when you want to access the link you should do that first.

I wanna add the phrasal verb "run out", and when I try to do that I get the mistake: "*** Error: Term in lowercase must be exactly = "run", please go back and correct this! ***". Hi! When you click on a word, you have the option of selecting a phrase by clicking on the numbers that appear followed by the end of the last word you'd like to select. This will allow you to save a phrase rather than a single word. Let me know if that wasn't clear enough!

I tried pasting some links for learning languages, but yt comments section is most probably using some advanced AI that recognizes links even if I try as hard as I can to not make them look like links. I think it could be cool if you added like a google form or something like that in the description and then we could submit best resources for learning a specific language. Then you could compile them and make a video out of it. I have one that has books, and one with shows, both very legit (not a pirate), sadly the one with books doesn't have copy books. Also both are free.
Idk where you're from, but your accent in Spanish is good, I can even assure Spanish is a language that you may speak very well or maybe your mother tongue lol or Portuguese good tutorial easy to learn and follow, I installed but idk why it doesn't work lol

This video instructions worked very well but my only issues were that with Japanese, I had to manually add spaces to make the parser be able to detect the words and okay I know there's some spacer software that can solve that issue but somehow I just felt that added way too many steps and the server configuration drained my laptop battery pretty quick so that's unfortunate. 😂 A lovely software nevertheless.

for autolaunch you can just exit and reopen it when you need it, so it's shouldn't really affect anything.

one of the downsides is the character limitation when importing but I fixed it by changing the code
