Ateez is an insanely well rounded group. Great rap line, great vocal line, and not a bad dancer in the bunch. Also, overall production quality for their music, their videos, and their choreo is top notch. And they seem to be able to excel at just about any genre you throw at them. Finally, they are just top notch stage performers.

Yes, ATEEZ DO have a lore 😅 Actually, they're probably the group who has the most worked through and detailed lore and storyline in kpop. They have three album series, 'Guerrilla' is from the first part of the third series. Their lore actually moves through all three series, every song, beginning with their debute songs 'Pirate king' and 'Treasure' (from 2018) tells the story. Even their performances on 'Kingdom; Legendary war', they've weaved into their lore. They have trailers (intros and epilogues) for every series part, which is important to see, in order to try and understand the full story. Even their lightstick is very unique and part of their lore... as I said, VERY worked through. And a very interesting story concept too. I still haven't completely cracked it (still rather new ATINY myself 😅), but as far as I've gathered, it starts with the 'FEVER' series, although it was released as a second, telling a story of 8 friends, struggling to find and be themselves. 'TREASURE' series (the first released one) is them embarking on this journey, leaving behind everything, to find the biggest treasure/meaning. They have this ship 'DESTINY' (hence fandom name- combination between ATEEZ and DESTINY), and as rootless pirates, they travel between worlds and time, I think, with the help of "Cromos", the hourglass that is part of the ATEEZ lightstick. Something like this. It's quite the fantasy/adventure/Sci fi story 😅 Because of their pirates and sailors status, the leader HongJoong is called 'Captain' rather than leader 😉 Oh yeah, there's 'Halateez' as well... I still haven't quite figured out who they are, but maybe them from an alternative/pararelle world... 🤔 I still haven't figured out if they're good or bad though 😅
I don't think is hard to understand the lore, sure if you want to catch all the details and roles plus all the references and inspirations of all the books, movies and series yes but bc it's a lot, but to know the general gist is pretty intuitive and easy to follow in comparison of other groups, to me at least? Btw the hourglass it's called Cromer (maybe inspired by cronos that means time?) and allows them to travel through dimensions and time with the moon phases :) To both of you if you want, I recommend you to watch the videos of the channel eterniteez that narrates the canon story written in the albums, and then the latest video of the channel Tiny Bug Ink about their time and world mechanics, that one may be harder to understand at first but it's amazing and every Atiny should watch it! :D Sorry I can't put links bc yt may delete it thinking it's spam! 🧡
And ejemima you will see in the videos I said but if you want some spoilers and summary of some things: They have 2 dimensions (that they introduced to us, bc they said there are more and we don't know which are they yet), they are A and Z (bc Ateez=A to the Z xp). Ateez are from A and Halateez from dimension Z, which is a dystopian world and is were they are in Guerilla and some other MVs. Halateez, and yes they are good confirmed!! In the lore are called The Black Pirates, that is an Anarchist organization against the government hiding in a bunker (all the story you saw on the trailers and MV) And anarquist symbol is seen in Guerilla multiple times, and introduced back then in Hala Hala mv, also represented by the A of Ateez And the anarchist+pirate black flags in Wonderland! :)

I'm a fan of rock, metal, punk, grunge etc. and these guys are genuinely up my alley so I feel like they definitely will be for you too! Thanks! Yeah I am super excited to get deeper into ATEEZ, this song has been in my head since I recorded the video lol. I'm trying to keep myself in the dark as much as I can so I can experience them fully when I do my Diving In videos on them. That said, I will probably watch the Numb cover on my own time because that sounds awesome, and I'm pretty sure Hongjoong is my bias (only based of one song ahaha)
