    The low and hi cuts for the reverb is easy to tweak and hear when you set the mix slider to 100% and then set mix to the level

    Hey Steve - cool vid. You reinforced the Early Reflections trick that you mentioned to me previously - very cool. Regarding the Room Reverb, is Pre Delay a time gap between the attack and when the ambience occurs? And the High and Lo Cuts on any of the reverbs does the same thing as on the delay - it relates to the wet signal only. If you like a darker "reverb", crank the High Cut, etc. It doesn't impact the dry portion of the sound. BTW, I bet you like to drop the bass down because you are a Tele guy at heart :) Rock on!

    • @SteveSterlacci
      @SteveSterlacci  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ha! Usually the tele bridges are too bright and need a bit more low end! Yes on the pre-delay. I never hear a big difference in the hi and low cuts on the reverbs

    I'm new to electric, when you say the tone is lifeless or mushy or some people say muddy, I don't really know what that means
    You say your able to feel like what you need based on ear and how do I start to train this ear from beginning?

    • @SteveSterlacci
      @SteveSterlacci  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its hard to explain feelings in words... but you just have to try to make tons of presets, try to make some bad ones to find what you dont like and express what it feels like to you! Then make it better and try to describe why you think its better or feels better! Dont stress about being a beginner. It takes time and patience

      @@SteveSterlacci not really for guitar but for music that I listen to on my phone, sometimes the song sounds bad cause the eq is bad and I would always try adjust it. And I can hear the difference but I can never get it right.
      Why is it so hard seems like to get the right sound everything has to dial in at once perfectly to get a good sound but when you do it you know what each individual frequency could sound like.

    Very informative video which is also applicable to tone sculpting in general. I have an Avid Eleven Rack, and will definitely try these tricks on it when building new tones or tweaking old ones. Also, the High/Low cut on the Room Reverb is more of an "in the mix" thing, I believe. Sometimes reverbs either add or accentuate low/high frequencies, so if you want your guitar to cut through the mix a bit more, you would enhance it with these settings, and vice-versa for putting your guitar more in the background of the mix.

      no you have to manually enter in the info Steve showed here into your Helix as the Helix files are .hlx and the PodGo files are different Also the Line6 site wont allow you to even access/download the files for PodGo unless you owned and registered a PodGo on the site. You can only access what you have purchased and registered so.....watch the video, write down the settings and then enter them into your Helix is the only way.

    Hi Steve,
    Your videos are awesome! I hope you can help me with something, I'm not finding any information on this so far. I would like to to use the built-in onboard expression pedal just like normal; volume and wah with toe switch on every patch as it comes out of the box. I also want to connect an external exp pedal (Mission) to control only parameters like delay and verb. Is that possible, and if so how can I set it up for that? Right now when I connect the external expression pedal it seems to make it a volume pedal and the onboard exp pedal quits working or only for the wah, I don't remember. I haven't discovered how to do this in the manual or pilot's guide. thanks....dan

    • @SteveSterlacci

      Hey Dan! Just hold down the parameters knob you want to control, page "Controller" to EXP 2 and set your min / max values for toe up/toe down. Make sure you re assign the volume pedal to EXP1 if it changed. Hold down Position and select EXP 1 for controller

    • @SteveSterlacci

    I bounce back and forth between using a physical amp, and using an FRFR. I have been keeping my presets common, and just disabling the amp and cab if I am using a real amp. And on the GO, there is no real hard to this since you can't use those blocks for anything else anyway. But on the Stomp, that means a wasted block (assuming I use the combined amp/cab block) or two. But using this strategy means I don't have to create and maintain multiple sets of presets. Maybe you could do a video that discusses your approach to this.

    • @SteveSterlacci
      @SteveSterlacci  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would either do what you do and just bypass the amp. Maybe assign it to a FS? Or, make a User folder named Amp, and one named Pedals and just copy them all over. It is easy to navigate the folders. Maybe I will cover this!
