I have literally prayed for a platform. I didn't know what I was asking for until now. You have encouraged me to overcome my fears and doubts. I can do this.
Michael, reinventing (or in my case re-discovering) yourself is a challenge when you have been told who to be for decades. I have not been a CEO, but rather the CMO for major corporations. I found that the higher I got, the farther away from the "fun" stuff I got. But what I found was, I enjoyed change. And effecting change through branding, positioning, marketing and relationship building/selling. I have a blog, web site site, Facebook page, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and dedicated sporadic attention to all. Your reminder of consistency and persistency (is that a word?) seems to be a primary tenet. Conitue to "play" with things/subjects that turn you on and don't be afraid to experiment, explore. learn. Nice introduction to what could be a game changer for many - maybe even a marketing guy that has been in situations where you had to "fake it, 'til you make it", outside of the comfort zone situations. I want to continue to grow and share. Thanks.
Hi Michael, this is the first comment that I have left on youtube. I was so impressed with your journey and passion to help others. I am a new writer who has had many expectations that has not progressed simply because of a lack of knowledge. I am excited to know that you are a forerunner and have set the trail to blaze others behind you. I look forward to following your leadership and am confident that I will succeed too! You are amazing and unforgettable. Keep inspiring others.
Hi mr. Michael! Praise God for this opportunity to have watched your video. I stopped doing my blog too because I felt it didn't have sense anymore. I focused on facebook with my page of my writings and now I guess I'll try to go back to my blog too after watching this. God bless!
Very encouraging. My wife and I have been encouraged by your blog for some time! Our life long goal and dream is begin a disruptive business that will change the way flowers are marketed in the US and other countries. Thanks for your encouraging blogs and this video. Got to the the book!
What an incredibly generous and inspiring video! Thank you so much for sharing it, Mr. Hyatt. You've helped me tremendously on my own path toward beginning to create my own platform. (I'm currently getting about 150 hits a day on my TH-cam channel, which has been so encouraging, since I'm just starting off.) I've "opted in" to your mailing list and can't wait for your next video! Mike
Inspired! I really appreciate all you've done to help people find and build their platform. Thanks for the being a pioneer! I've got something to say and discovering your blog has not only shown me how to say it but inspires me on regular basis to get moving! Looking forward to the Get Noticed beta template!
thank you so much Michael. I'm in my third year with my blog and indeed all of your advices are in line with my experience: trying different styles and types of posts, hanging there, regularity, coherence, using multiple social media tools to reach more people... Only 10K visitors per month but it continues to grow. Hopefully my inflexion point isn't that far away! Michel.
Full of significant advise, but very light to take. I mean, unlike most speakers and motivators, Michael didn't even raise his voice to share his thoughts in this video. Reminds me of taking it slow and just be happy of what you're doing. Remarkably, his road to 350K monthly readership is kind of magical. He mentioned about that "Inflection Point", which is somehow what I am waiting now in my career as a writer and blogger. And that "Benefits of Hindsight" thing, this is something I rarely or never heard before. Great video, very inspirational.
Thanks so much! I've received so much help and guidance on blogging from your videos. The encouragement has helped me persevere at times when I felt like quitting. I'm really grateful to have found your video blog series.
Thank you so much Mike. I am striving to begin a blog and business helping women at home be victorious with their home environment (interior design), managing their household organization wisely with good financial practices like sticking to a budget, and enjoying their homes more in the process. Your book is transforming for this stay at home mom. Can’t wait to see what’s ahead. Kim in a Washington State
Mr. Hyatt, I am overjoyed to discover you tonight while researching how to blog on TH-cam! I'm fired up and ready to create a blog about giving vegan advice on how to shift to a lighter, more conscious lifestyle in a slow and easy way that anyone can achieve, vegan or not. I'm in the process of researching how to go about creating a platform which will help me transition into a small vegan related business in the near future. I look forward to continue reading and watching more of what you have to teach and learning from your mistakes. Thank you for your wisdom, teachings, and leadership! Vivian.
Very encouraging video! I'm in my first year with my blog (Small Group Churches) and we're approaching 1,000 unique visitors a month (over 850 right now). Hopefully we can hit our inflection point sooner rather than later. Thanks again!
Thank you Michael for sharing your actual numbers of visitors. Inspires us to keep blogging and building. Keep up the phenomenal work -Frank theweatheredlife
Thank you Michael - I only came across your platform recently. Completely inspired to pick up & build on an idea that has been tossing around in my mind for a year or two but I wasn't sure what to do with it. Will launch blog in July this year as the base for that idea now.
Thank you Michael! I'm a huge fan of Dale Partridge as well and will finally be starting my own blog this week thanks to inspiring people like you two. God bless!
Michael, I really enjoy and appreciate your sound advice! I'm so committed to hitting that inflection point and becoming a major influence. Looking forward to learning more from you! - Chris
Thank you very much Michael, your video series is really very encouraging. You are enabling many to build a platform for reaching out to a wide global audience. Based on your input I did purchase the blog theme from you and built my blog and as well adding value to my travel agency as well. Thanks for sharing your knowledge & experience. May God bless you ! MM
This was just what I needed to hear! Due to some difficult circumstances at my employer, I felt resigning to be the only option and am now focusing more attention on blogging. I really connected with what you said about a platform and it being a place of influence. I have chosen to blog regarding five topics, essential oils, health, wealth, home and things of the soul. Thank you again for a great motivational pick me up!
Michael, I began my blog, Travel By Terry, in June of 2012. Hopefully without sounding immodest, I think I have a unique, admittedly quirky but highly entertaining writing style. Like all new bloggers, it has been a bit of a slog building a following but I find your own experience, especially your passionate appeal for patience, extremely fortifying. Thanks for the important work you do and for setting a trail that others, like me, can follow.
Thank you Michael, your poscast and videos are so inspiring and drive me in good shape for work and what I want to reach. God richly bless you! Congrants and greetings from Nicaragua, Central America.
My friend, you are awesome! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! At 20 years old, I just started blogging on Wordpress about 2 months ago. I find your story quite inspiring, and really want to continue watching your videos! Once again your awesome!
You lead, I'll follow. I am working on building our chiropractic clinic in fairfax va. I just bought your book "platform" on cd today. Thanks to my good friend David that introduced me to you.
Michael, thank you for sharing your journey with building your blog. As I listened, I felt excitement building inside of me like a stranded sailor would feel when wind finally starts to move his sails. I found myself also getting direction of which way to sail my boat via blogging. Best to you!
Thank you Michael, your video series is really very encouraging. You are enabling many to build a platform for reaching out to a wide global audience. Thanks for sharing your knowledge & experience. Best wishes.
Hey Michael Hyatt I watched you speak at the Social Media Examiner conference while sitting with my sister in law Denise Wakeman You are one remarkable man. I just loved this video and I will be sharing it all over the place. Beautiful beautiful beautiful. I have built my platform :) and am at my inflection point. I'm a blogger and write for my audience... it is about THEM. I agree with you 100%. I felt like you were talking right to me. LOL!! You rock out loud. THANK YOU. With much love and gratitude, Lynne
Lynne Knowlton thanks for the shoutout and sharing Michael Hyatt's video. Favorite quote (and this is what I tell my audience as well): _The number one benefit a platform gives you, is options._ #RightOn !
Inspiring~looking forward to watching more! Thank you for sharing...especially about sticking it out until the turning point comes. I am on the brink of my first published work and needed this encouragement! Blessings~
I want to thank you from the bottom-of-my heart for sharing all of your invaluable information and experiences. I too love helping people streamline their business platform. My motto is "simplify". I find that so many of my clients overdue it with too much web content and not enough social media engagement. Thanks to you I have been able to share this information in a confident and concise manner; I feel like your backing me up each time I present a proposal. Thank you!
Love the video, Michael! I appreciate how down-to-earth you seem when sharing this message. I'm a writer who helps people improve their websites and develop their blogs. I particularly enjoy helping small business owners get their messages out to the world. That's the kind of platform I'm trying to build and thanks to your inspiration I'll definitely NOT quit!
MIchael, this is great stuff; thanks for sharing your journey. You asked us to post what we are working on. Well, I am a high school librarian who really wants to make an impact on my students and staff. I also want to share what I am learning with others, which is why I am thinking of starting a blog. I've been struggling a little to find a way to narrow it down, but I am currently thinking of writing about student engagement as the key to learning, and all this encompasses.
Inspiring! And the best advice: Don't quit. You can always change it up if it's not working, but above all, keep at it! And I love the quote: "The most interesting things happen just on the other side of your comfort zone." So very true. That's a world changer.
Thanks for sharing your passion with us Michael. I'm trying to lead through my platform of youth ministry and discipleship. I'm hoping to take it to the next level this year and even attempt writing a book!
Michael, Wonderful video and it certainly resonated with me, being a former CEO/President. I am embarking on a new career at the ripe old age of 58. Currently a part of Marie Forleo's program but looking to soak up as much knowledge as humanly possible. My business venture is to help Business Owners who are interested in selling their own companies prepare for the process of selling. Sort of the opposite of the M&A community's due diligence folks who perform the diligence, I help owners understand what they are in for and how to prepare so their sale is successful
4-14-14 Michael, I just returned home from a long weekend at a Toastmasters International Conference, in Pittsburgh, Pa. (April 12-14th) where the Keynote Speaker, Sheryl Roush, held a copy of your book up to a room of over 300 Toastmasters as a large overwhelming and expressive gasp swept the room. The gasp emanated out of the magority of Toastmasters in the room who already owned and had read your book. WOW! What an awesome non verbal testimonial of the highest endorsement an author could ever aspire to. I WAS SOLD!!! When I returned to my room that evening (2pm) I jumped on to Amazon and ordered my own copy. (a couple days later) Tonight, I am watching your TH-cam videos in anticipation of receiving "Platform" sometime within the next 5 days. I'll keep you posted on my progress. Bitoku Neko & Alexandra
Thank you Michael, very helpful insights and sharing. Like you, I've had a career (actually two careers) in the pre-Internet, pre-social media world. And although I've been a speaker for my entire adult life, it is a huge transition "translating" my consulting work to an internet platform with charm. Getting closer now! I teach people to design and align themselves visually and internally with practical tools on the "how-to" issues. I joined Platform University! Thanks for all the encouragement. Rebel Holiday
Thanks Michael, great stuff! Our platform is the latino business community of Nashville in the area of marketing and advertising. Looking forward to the next video!
Thanks for this, Michael! I have a passion to build a platform around helping Christians, especially pastors, foster creativity and cultural impact from within conservative faith community contexts. Have been through some rough stuff lately, but looking forward to implementing what I'm learning from you. I'm inspired, both by your content and its presentation.
Wow: I'm in love--my new favorite thought leader! Looking forward to the rest of the series. I'm building my platform around ghostwriting for CEOs, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders--with a bit of fun (and some good eats) thrown in!
Michael, thank you for the video. I really appreciate it. My blog is about being A Jesus Follower. I mostly write about basic faith principles for those who are new to their faith in Jesus or are curious about being a Christian. The whole purpose for my blog came out of my personal story in learning to grow more in my faith as a Christian, but I felt so overwhelmed at first by theology and Hebrew bible study. I wanted something simple to start, and that is my hope in what I write.
Thanks, you are making me review the last three years of writing online, and have seen that my strongest area of readers accounts for 25% of my page-views and generate emails to me, and yet I have not focused on building that section.... time to rethink!
Hi Michael. Thanks for you videos - they are all helpful in a really practical way. There are a few tweaks I'm going to start doing immediately, but I'm also going to analyse and overhaul my (future) content. I've been blogging for about a year and a half, and I am building it around a fiction writing / self-help business. I really appreciate your openness. Cheers! Zee x
Hi Michael. thanks for your encouragement! I just published my first book, Joining Forces: Empowering Male Survivors to Thrive this past November. I am using social media a lot, hired a PR agent, have done a lot of interviews, but it is slow going. Your encouragement that it takes time helps a lot! I know 1 in 6 men have been sexually abused by age 16, so I know the audience is out there. I will keep at it!
Michael..... Missed your webinar and replay last week....thoroughly value this content. Very helpful to have your insights and encouragement to "do this." I have started to build a platform around "Healthy Homes" to appeal to an audience interested in improving their health, family's health, the health of their home, and improve the value of their home and their health at the same time. Trying to get in the blogging groove.
Hi Michael, thanks for this inspitration. It really is a great help for me. I'm on my way of starting a platform (not yet) around my current business. It's music and audio production for B2B content. Cheers
Great video. It is always inspiring to know that even though I am hitting only 300 unique visitors a month, that if I stick with it I can continue to grow that number. I am trying to build my platform around comic books, specifically those wanting to publish the comic independently.
Wow Michael Hyatt great share! Wish I could have connected with you when I was living in Nashville w/ your neighbor Danny Chambers but love following you Online!
Michael Hyatt: I appreciate that you talked about "voice" in addition to "platform." I feel that as writers, we need to find our voice first. Then we can build, and keep on building, our platform.
Really enjoyed your video. Very inspirational and helpful. Good to know that other people started at the bottom. I enjoy your web page. Read it on a regular basis. I'm new to blogging and I have a long way to go. I blog about leadership, particularly emerging or beginning leaders.
I really enjoyed reading your book & watching this video. We're launching our 12th book in early May and we think The Christian Parenting Handbook (Thomas Nelson!) is going to be the book that every Christian parent will want to have on their bookshelf. (or in their Kindle, etc.!) The book is written by the co-founders of the National Center for Biblical Parenting, Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller. (Joanne is my wife.) Thanks for all of the great advice.
Michael I felt your discussion on learning how to build a platform was very informative and very helpful to a new person like myself. I have been seeking the Lord to show me how to build a platform and I discover your videos on building your platform. The new book I have just written and was released by Xulon Press is called A Quiet Place with the Father.
Thanks a lot for the insight! We're on our way (trying) to build a platform around special unique cityscape images from all over the world... we'll see where we are in some years time...
Thanks, Michael. Really appreciate your clarity and your transparency ... you've provided lots of "juice" for shifting into a higher gear. (Because you asked: my 'mission' is educational resources that evoke the best from within kids, rather than telling them how to behave. Experience, and the brain science of learning, validate the approach.)
I have literally prayed for a platform. I didn't know what I was asking for until now. You have encouraged me to overcome my fears and doubts. I can do this.

Michael, I just happened to run across your videos while trying to figure this whole blog thing. Thank you for your insight and honesty.

Hi Michael. thanks for your encouragement!
This is great Michael. Very inspiring. Thanks
Inflection point....the point for me when all my little right moves yield results...Just subscribed to your channel Michael..
"The #1 thing a platform gives you is options." - @MichaelHyatt - Great insight.
Absolutely brilliant! Michael Hyatt, you are a genius! Thank you!
Hi Michael, thanks for this inspitration. It really is a great help for me.
I'm on my way of starting a platform (not yet) around my current business. It's music and audio production for B2B content. Cheers
the best tips for bloggers- thank you
Nice and inspirational, authentic. Thanks! Kwame, Abu Dhabi.
Great video. It is always inspiring to know that even though I am hitting only 300 unique visitors a month, that if I stick with it I can continue to grow that number. I am trying to build my platform around comic books, specifically those wanting to publish the comic independently.
Thank you for those words of wisdom.
Thank you for inspiration Michael.
Wow Michael Hyatt great share! Wish I could have connected with you when I was living in Nashville w/ your neighbor Danny Chambers but love following you Online!
Thank you for sharing such transforming and encouraging knowledge. @C. Gachau Maina thanks for sharing the video
Super inspiring!! Thank you.
Thank you Michael!!
Michael Hyatt: I appreciate that you talked about "voice" in addition to "platform." I feel that as writers, we need to find our voice first. Then we can build, and keep on building, our platform.
well done Michael! stellar book, blog and podcast. i'm building my platform around how best to leverage the next generation workforce.
cheers!
Great video. Powerful encouragement! May the Lord continue to bless your efforts!
Really enjoyed your video. Very inspirational and helpful. Good to know that other people started at the bottom. I enjoy your web page. Read it on a regular basis. I'm new to blogging and I have a long way to go. I blog about leadership, particularly emerging or beginning leaders.
Appreciate the tips and refreshing insights, i've listened to this twice now and both times i get something new, God Bless you
I loved your video truly inspirational
I really enjoyed reading your book & watching this video. We're launching our 12th book in early May and we think The Christian Parenting Handbook (Thomas Nelson!) is going to be the book that every Christian parent will want to have on their bookshelf. (or in their Kindle, etc.!) The book is written by the co-founders of the National Center for Biblical Parenting, Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller. (Joanne is my wife.) Thanks for all of the great advice.
Very inspiring and informative!
Michael I felt your discussion on learning how to build a platform was very informative and very helpful to a new person like myself. I have been seeking the Lord to show me how to build a platform and I discover your videos on building your platform. The new book I have just written and was released by Xulon Press is called A Quiet Place with the Father.
Very inspiring
Thank you so much!
Truly amazing video. Consider me a new fan!
A new and enlightening discovery. Thanks.
Thank you for the insights. God bless you.
Awesome tips. You inspire me so much !
Well stated and inspiring.
Thanks a lot for the insight! We're on our way (trying) to build a platform around special unique cityscape images from all over the world... we'll see where we are in some years time...
Wow! Thank you for sharing your story to us. It's inspiring. :)
