The base looks totally different from when I was there from 1979 to around 1992. Base housing used to be in Yokohama. There was no schools on the base. The only building I even recognize is the one to left of the main gate, which is or was the enlisted club and it was built in the early 80’s.

This is where I spent many, many happy times and met people who became lifelong friends.

Another great video. I visited Yokosuka a handful of times. My husband was a pilot and would fly into Atsugi. After a couple of days we would drive to Yokosuka to collect his belongings off of the ship.
I would really appreciate it if you would do another video on Atsugi. If you could show officer housing I would really appreciate it. I would love to show our daughter where she spent the first three years of her life.

Well done Google Earth Studio and Japan Brats. The music was also great. Grandson is stationed there and this gives us an idea of how the land lies in this Port. Smooth video taking. Thank you for sharing and uncovering Yokosuka Naval Base.

    Another fantastic video...
I've visited the hospital many times over the years for work. We're planning a trip down to the NEX to shop in the new year. It's a fantastic base with lots of plans for new construction in the future.

I was stationed here 2004-2007 on the Kittyhawk. The base wasn't bad, good for family and singles alike.

Having lived in Japan for years as a Westerner, and recently moved to Yokosuka, it's such a weird place. Downtown you see tons of Americans off the base. I've met and worked with a lot of Americans in Japan, but the ones in Yokosuka are really living in their own world. As you can see, this base is basically a town, and it's closed off to the country that it's within.

Can see where the new towers are now. When I left, they (1992), they just went up to 10 (Juban).
