Hello, thank you for your inquiry. What causes the denim to curl is when you cut it and then rip the fabric if the denim is stretch denim it is probably going to have a different look but if the denim does not stretch, it should give you the look that you saw in the video I hope this information helps happy crafting and have a wonderful day.
