Every year I always tell myself this will be the year I get into planning and I start filling out my planner then eventually I just quite. This year I want to get more into it and actually stick with it.

- use different coloured pens for different categories
- use post-it notes (for temporary or uncertain ideas)
- use washi-tape (to indicate something is happening over a few days)
- a calendar app
- print out cute stickers/images to put in your planner!
- make your own folder at the back!

How creative! when I handwrite my to-do list and use dashes, I convert the dashes to plus signs when done with the task. ➖ ⏩➕

I use the color coding in my planner and it it so helpful! I have swimming, school, and personal as my colors!
Hi! I like to put tape on the edge of the folder before/after punching the holes, but prior to making the slits, that way that edge has extra strenght.
I actually find colour coding doesn't work for me because it's more effort. I prefer writing everything in black.

I use a Erin Condren vertical planner and on the left hand side is a place that has lines. I use that place for my weekly to do list, things that need to do but not sure exactly when. I find little "header" stickers and write down "categories" of things to do- like house cleaning. Then underneath that, I fill in what things that need to be done for house cleaning: like vacuum the floors, take out trash, change sheets. I use a little check box stamp (or someone can just draw their own or find a free one) and check it off when its done. It helps me get my things accomplished easier when I know some time that week I need to do that certain thing but make a category for it and then the things that fall with it.
I don't care that i have a bullet journal and not a planner. I am obsessed with this video just because of Noelle saying: Have No fear. A hole punch is here!

Gotta love that coloured pens advice, I honestly need to do that in my next bullet journal. I've been just using coloured little symbols next to a task up until now, but colour coding stuff might work better for me. And that washi tape for events that take multiple days is honestly golden advice for me: I'm a digital artist, and a lot of artists tend to hoard washi tapes. I'm no different, but I don't really get a lot of opportunities to use mine (I don't do much traditional media work, and I'm too heavy-handed to cut excess away without damaging the paper). I've been looking for more excuses to actually use my ever-growing collection of the suckers, so this protip gave me yet another one.

I have done the pen trick for years; it really helps when you have a big family... I have 4 kiddos. You could also write on the washi. You could d a simpler hack for the folder: get a small envelope and hole-punch/cut along the larger side and insert into planner.... you can easily secure the envelopes lip/lid with washi... This is great for those that use envelopes to budget their expenses, coupons, supplies for your planner. Skies the limits!

I LOVE the idea of buying printable sticker paper and printing out cute designs. Instead of going to hobby lobby or expensive stores that sell very few for like $20.

I’m 15 but ever since I was 13 whenever I get a planner I really customize it so I WANT to open it! I add pics of like cute celebs and stuff (on pages that nobody can see unless I open them lol) and stickers, and colored pens and stuff. I also use just normal black pens and normal pencils:) and when I’m bored I write things that I’m gonna do after school or that weekend, just to take my mind off of the dreadfulness of school haha
When I add an event to my Google Calendar and don't have my planner in front of me, I add a reminder on that event entry for tonight. That way, I get all the info for that event when I know I'll have my planner handy.
I have a recollections planner that is split into 3 for each day. I use it for morning noon and night tasks bills plans etc. I use Pinterest for little doodles and of course i have tons of stickers
