Graduated 11years ago and this video just bring back memories 😁 but the walking no be here sha and I miss motion ground, new buka, SUB building and Anglomoz 😅
Left OAU 12 years ago. Had goosebumps watching this. Through this video, I saw my teenage self walking through those roads and paths. Thanks for sharing.
I visited OAU Ife campus while at Ibadan, and the journey was 30 to 40 minutes. Ife is a very beautiful campus in terms of space and architectural masterpieces. A well planned university by Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Quite interesting that you have to do some distance from the main road into the campus
Thanks for spending the time to show us what Great Ife looks like these days. A lot of development has obviously taken place since I graduated in the early 90s. The campus seemed large enough then but it looks massive now.
The University of Ife is architecturally one of the best in the world!!! That said, the residential halls do need serious funding though. The academic buildings are rated on top...check out the following buildings: 1.EDM - Environmental Design & Management. 2. Faculty of Pharmacy 3. Spider Building 4. Historical Museum 5. Amphitheatre.
This video brought bk memories especially faculty of pharmacy hummmm father all I can say is thank you my maker, chai see faculty of education my friend Tomi must see this video
Thanks for your tour of Obafemi Awolowo University. Though beautiful, my concern is why all that empty land from the entrance gate of the campus to the main area of the University. I think in Nigeria we waste land mass allocated for Universities. In the UK 🇬🇧 especially in Universities in London like Imperial College, University college London, City University London you will not find the campuses size anywhere as big to Nigerian universities but these universities in the UK carry out world class research, like what Oxford University did with COVID-19 vaccine. Please let us stop this obsession with big massive campuses in Nigeria and let us focus more on modern content lectures for students and delivering world class research in the Universities.
@@kehindeandu4040 But my point was you don't need all that land to have a worldclass universwity, considering Nigerian university actually no research whatsoever.. Basically elimante waste to be honest.
@@michaelfarmhand But my point was you don't need all that land to have a world class university, considering Nigerian university actually do no research whatsoever.. Basically they should elimante the waste to be honest and give it to people to use the extra land for farming
@Patrick Izekor, Research in any university in Nigeria cannot be world-class, so far impunity, corruption, and nepotism still remain. Most Nigeria cannot attract funding for research from the international organization because there research output is nothing to write home about
What makes OAU is beyond the beautiful architectural design, but the amazing campus life. When i was a student, there is literally no night on campus. There is always one activity to the other. You are groomed for greatness. Ours is Great Ife, others pride themselves as greatest this, greatest that, ; but we know our Great(IFE) is greater than their greatest
Wow!Wow!!. Thanks so much for doing this video. It brings back memories; Left the university about 20years ago.God's willing, will visit when back in the motherland. You just got a subscriber.Love from Canada.
Yeah. Nigerian TH-camrs are very good with superlatives. Now that Patootie has been in the UK for 3 years or so, I would like to get her opinion on some of her past videos. Not to say OAU is not beautiful though. The problem with Nigeria is just the lack of landscape, or minimal landscape. And when some landscape is present as it is here, maintenance is often shoddy. Plus red sand/dust clogging roadways everywhere. It's par for the course for Nigerians. It's like they don't notice it, or even see it.
Welcome to my Alma Mater ,There’s only one great Ife in the universe, another great Ife is a counterfeit.Say me well to my people in AWO hall if you can .
Interesting, my formative year was on this campus and I have trekked past most of where you cover. Good to see nee developments mostly in line with the masterpiece. It would have been lovely if the voiceover was available, all the same, good job. I allowed all adverts to add value to your Chanel as you did for the viewers. Best of luck with me a new sub.
You didn't even cover a 10th of everything, those places you call end of roads are not ends, on your first turnback, few kilometres drive along would have led you to staff quarters and further kilometres would have led you to teaching hospital. on your second end of road turn back would have led you to spider house and then Tonkere, a local settlement on the campus,, your third turnback would have led you to the hostels. You missed the sport and indoor centre, you miss two mountains, the opa river and the dam, the school farm, the zoological Gardens (not just zoo), the Botanic Gardens, the bukataria, the metrological field, the aerospace reserve, Natural museum, Angola hall forest reserve, power house and many more. My last visit to the school two years ago shows that the school is not even what it used to be ( the twilight and evening rocks)
Rant!! I can't help but wonder why Nigerian architects graduate from places like these and still build four walls and square houses. If anything the architectural master piece of these buildings, since how many years ago was meant to inspire to do even greater things...... The universities in Europe are boys quarters compare to most federal universities in Nigeria that l can tell you for sure.l saw a head statue at the entrance as well. I think it signifies the christ, the spirit man, the head of the body, the power, wisdom and enlightenment of God Almighty in man personifies as Jesus in English bible.Nice one!! Thank you.
Nice one but to me, OAU isn't as heavenly and beautiful as people are painting it. I think the school is overhyped. I've been there twice and wasn't really freaked. I would rather prefer University of Ibadan any day any time
Do not compare the architectural beauty of ife to UI. The arrangement of the masterpieces are so breathtakingly beautiful and can not be compared with the old and u organized arrangements in UI.

London, etc don't have land mass, so they religiously manage what they have.
University campuses in the USA are massive - many are way bigger than University of Ife.

My Alma mater. Thanks for bringing back the memories
If this is the most beautiful university in Nigeria, then what a shame

I studied at OAU in the early 90's. I gotta to say some of those Lecture Theaters without a/c are like an oven.

Uni-Ife -- - better architectural buildings
Uni- Ibadan -- - better designed environment
That's university is massive.. Thank you for showing us around

Patootie, you now need drone, share your what you need to get this done with your viewers. You really need drone for good content
I actually think UNIZIK is prettier
Comparing unizik to OAU is a big joke 🙄 they ain't mate in all aspects.
