Just want to say, I'm quite in tears while watching this video, and just want to say thank you "CENTER STAGE", because of this movie I fell in love with Ballet, I was 19 yrs old when I saw this movie, I was a break dancer then. And upon seeing this movie, I decided to become a ballet dancer, for sure I was too late because of my age, but I didn't care. 3 years later, I became a professional ballet dancer with Royal New Zealand Ballet, and worked with other ballet companies too, I landed many roles and worked my way up. And finally, in 2015, I retired happily as a principal dancer. I did a grand exit, dancing my dream role: "Spectre Dela Rose" by Vaslav Nijinsky, and Sylvia Pas de Deux suite. If it wasn't for this movie, I wouldn't have done and achieved all these. Every time I watch this movie, it brings me back into that special defining moment! And it makes me a bit emotional in a good way! Thank you so much for the inspiration... my idols! ❤️❤️🙏👍
Wow, that is a wonderful story. My body was not ideal, my turnout is terrible. The movie made me feel better about it, but my range is just not enough. I LOVE that at 19 you were able to start ballet and make it in the professional world. Brings tears to my eyes to think of that.

20 years later we are still talking about this movie means we need another movie!!!! Sasha as Director....not far from what art imitating life could be in a new script. This needs to happen.
They've made 2 sequels. They are not awful, but as usual nothing beats the original. And the direction of "Sir" Nicholas Hytner in this one also sets it apart. If you wish to see another great ballet movie (although less contemporary) I highly recommend "Mao Last Dancer". Amanda is also in it!😄
This will forever be one of my favorite movies! Anytime I hear "Canned Heat" or "The Way You Make Me Feel" it reminds me of the final dance, which I still think is one of the best dance scenes ever.
What a treat! I met Sascha back in '97 when he performed in D.C. and I was training at the Kirov Academy of Ballet- was a genuine guy then & still is! The film reminds me of the good ol' days-thx ABT!
Last year I was so privileged to watch a Ballet in Cape Town by the South African Ballet Company and I was delighted to see the diversity of the dancers. I believe that South African Ballet can really stand as beautiful example of diversity in the Ballet world.
I can’t believe this was 20 years ago! I was 17 when it came out, but it totally gave me hope that I could move to NY and dance which is exactly what I did. I danced professionally and taught. I got sick three years ago, I’m better, but my life changed and I miss teaching dance so much.

I have loved this movie for 20 years and enjoyed every second of catching up with these wonderful performers! Also - It should be noted that Zoe Stars in 2 of my favorite guilty pleasure movies - Center Stage and Drumline. I loved the way she talked about dancers and drummers during this interview.

Crying screaming throwing up HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS EXISTED?? I cannot express how much I've loved this movie since it came out on VHS and I bought it and proceeded to watch it hundreds of times, and my friends and I would get drunk and practice our turn out and I would get so excited about the only dance move in the entire movie I could do - all red Jodie's hand flip and wink during the Jamiroquai number at the end 🤷🏻♀️And omg this makes me and my friends all so so happy circa 2000/2001 through 2024 ❤❤thank you all so much and Peter Gallagher ❤ and the music and Susan may Pratt and Kathleen Donahue and Eric and Sergei dancing with the "old lady" 🥹😍
I fell in love with ballet a long time ago. And watching centerstage was like one of the best moment of my life. I hope they all realize that .. they really do ballet a justice by filming Center stage 🥰 I wish they make the sequel but the good one like the original.

I've always wanted to be a ballet dancer, but unfortunately I grew up pretty poor and was never able to stay in the classes that I did get to attend. So now I live my dreams through all of the beautifully talented young dancers out in our world today. With things like YT I can enjoy the art any time.
So thrilled to watch this. I have always loved the movie. While not a professional, I have danced since age four - starting pointe at age nine. I made it part of my bucket list to get back into my pointe shoes at age 60, and I'm doing it! I am also an instructor at a studio, as well.
Love you all you guys, such an inspiration for me, i remember being 13 yo, i had just started my classes using point shoes, and yes Center Stage was a great example of what a dancer is and could be.... PS my biggest crush Sasha hahaha, thank you for this wonderful memories!!!!!

The cast is better looking now than they were in the movie. Not a super fan of the movie like many dance fans. Too corny and too much of a fantasy for me. But it's good to see these people looking so happy and healthy.
