    This is good to know! Thank you Julie for compiling all this.
    I also feel strongly that if teachers gave kids more choice about what they want to read, then kids would enjoy reading more, and grow up to read even more books.

      100% I completely agree with this. We were forced to read books in school that were so bad it makes you not enjoy reading but when you can read things you're interested in you can't get enough. My son BEGS to read books about Titanic and Minecraft ... he'll read 10 books a day (well, with help, he's only 5) if it's his choice.

    Excellent points and statistics, Julie. Thanks. I think one data point for eBooks, is that people purchase books as they find them, then don't read them right away, they get to it "later". It's similar to print books, purchasers order the book, it gets shipped, then eventually they get to it. Ask the audience what they do, and get a feel that way. I described my habits, and I am guessing many others do similar.

    • @BookLaunchers
      @BookLaunchers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally. I usually end up scrolling through my e-book library on a plane and find books I totally forgot I'd purchased and downloaded. This is especially true when I buy pre-release. That said, there are some books I buy and immediately dive into ... depends on why I'm buying it or when i bought it I think!! Thanks for sharing.

    I suspect digital is eating into the magazine market the most. My sense is that digital is the best format for timely, temporary info, paper is for info one wants to keep for future reference.
    I LOVE the smell of books. I don’t have to publish a bestseller, but it sure would be nice to put out a ‘bestsmeller’!

      I don't really have expertise in building a publishing company beyond what I share here:
      th-cam.com/video/l7lrtH9wabY/w-d-xo.html
      To publish other peoples books involves a ton of considerations and keep their rights and earn royalties is a different structure than what we do as a services company.

    Hello J., this is another fantastic video. I am inspired. But I have something I want you to make me understand, if you can. It has to do first-Kindle with ebooks. Is it normal to leave no space between chapters for an book to look okay? Because often my formatting scatters once I upload my ebook manuscript on kdp. Secondly, I want to know more about Kindle Create software. I have used it a couple of times even though I have not mastered it. Do I import my DOCS files with no space in between the chapters for a better experience. This is because no matter how hard I try, a number of chapters start far or lower down the respective pages.
    I would be very grateful if you can help with these questions, even though you are not under any obligation to answer them, if you choose not to.
    Thanks.
