- Science fiction adventure about a group of people who attempt to contact alien intelligence. Roy Neary (Richard Dreyfuss) witnesses an unidentified flying object, and even has a "sunburn" from its bright lights to prove it. Roy refuses to accept an explanation for what he saw and is prepared to give up his life to pursue the truth about UFOs.

I'm a big fan of the HCG show for almost 7 years now, i listened to Johnny's stories ,so many times on the AGG podcast back in the days. I really think, you guys have something special with this channel. The quality of the reviews and good balance of personalities and opnions between you to is outstanding. Keep up the great work!
Saw Close Encounters in theater with my wife a few weeks ago. Really loving the Fathom events bringing these classics back to theaters.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind is a cool flick . I saw it on the big screen once ,Way back in the day ,And it one of favourite movies .it is a must see for anybody ,Who never grew up on this movie .

Neither Contact nor Arrival captured the spirit of CE3K. A recent movie that did was Super 8... for obvious reasons.

i also just got the 4k last week. Great movie! 4k transfer was nice,but not great.
I have a theory that they did all the abductions of the people for that one guy who joined them in the end (sorry for spoilers)

I dislike some of the humor, especially when Dreyfus is shoving the bushes in the window, it's a little too manic for me. Loved the rest of the film though

I like Dreyfuss and Spielberg but not this movie.
I've had loads of versions of this movie over the years, but this 4k version is absolutely awful, the film grain is over the top and spoils it. Not worth the money at all, one of my few 4k regrets, don't buy it. Get an older cheap DVD or Bluray version, save your money.
