Nice video and you have some good form. I'm not sure if it was because of your environment you were recording in, but you're not playing through the drum. Within the JSU drumline, power is key and playing through the drum creates that power.
Yes I noticed that also because of the angle of the camera you cannot distinguish the vertical movements which makes it seem very soft. All you can see is lateral movement. So I was actually playing a bit hard but it looks soft because is a top down view. I was the only quint playing so I was playing louder than usual.
Wondering if OTS stands for Out The Stands. I taught my percussion section a cadence caller ITS and named it that because it's meant go be played as we're entering the stands.
