    Quick Tip. When cleaning the filter with water use running water (tap) and pass the water on the side behind the side where dust is accumulated. DO NOT use the water spray on the side of dust.

    The moisture he mentions at the beginning is condensation. There is a tray to catch this which then flows away in the drain. If you blow all of the dirt/dust Into the unit like that you will cause a build up in the tray. Cleaning units like this risk blockages which will cause your unit to leak.

    A good pointer on electrical isolation and regular washing of the filters, but the rest of the advice was weak. Your method of cleaning pushes dirt and dust further into the coil. Also, many air conditioners have mould that causes the smell you mentioned. To clean away the bad smell, you need to remove the mould. The casing needs to be removed and vacuum with a HEPA grade vacuum before cleaning the coil and blower fan with cleaning solution and low-pressure cold water spray.

    Blowing air into the clogged fins is a bad idea. This will disperse the dust all in all direction including back at the cleaner!

    • @sergiocastro588
      @sergiocastro588 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you just vacuum it? Is it better ?

    • @jk35260
      @jk35260 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@sergiocastro588 Vacuum is not very effective but it can work to some degree and is useful for removing thick outer layer of dust. You should also be careful as the fins are quite soft and can be easily dented especially if the brush is too stiff.
      Alternatively, you can use a portable manual pressure water sprayer or buy a cheap electric pressure water sprayer. Water pressure of 3 to 5 bar is sufficient to do the job. Water is more effective as it will soften the dirt or dust and is therefore more effective. A bit of soap helps too.
      Whatever method you use, just apply the following principles. Dust will disperse in all direction if strong force is applied at it. Water has the effect of soaking the dust which can then be easily dislodge from the fins.

      Only thing is I took extra care and didn't use high vaccum setting, very softly I removed pile of dirt but did not try to remove every single dot of dirt which can be removed with water.

    Air blower will blow the dirt deeper inside the cooling fins....use soft vacuum instead.

    Remember to blow air thoroughly over the dirty filters too, before cleaning them with water. LOL.
