@ Game of Thrones is something else. I don't know anyone who didn't like it, except for the ending. Personally, I think everyone should see it 😃 but since everything depends on taste
I hope you guys watch Queen Charlotte before you watch season 3 cause in the show they reference some stuff that happens in Queen Charlotte and it’s recommended to watch it after season 2 and before season 3
Season 2 is my favorite season. The voice of Lady Whistledown is Julie Andrews (The Sound of Music). Only her voice. They cover some great songs in the show.
It really depended on the era and what the social status was. It was very common for women to break several ribs to fit into a 9-inch waist standard. Women of higher class would make the corsets this tight (and tighter) to the point of long term breathing issues and fainting. But I do agree, corsets were the common bra back then
@Cailey_forman I'm pretty sure that's not true. The only data we have about people fainting because of corsets came from male doctors. The same ones who'd give orgasms to women when they were sick with "hysteria" 😂 There are also drawings that depict women with tiny waists, but most of them are exaggerated. They wore padding on their hips and puffy sleeves that accentuated their shoulders so the waist would look smaller than it actually was. Also, another thing I forgot to mention: a corset was never worn in direct contact with the skin. And they wouldn't wear a corset for that type of dress too! It doesn't even make sense, the dress covers the waist 😂 Of course we can't expect historical accuracy from Bridgerton, but they could at least have used some logic.
@@erikperhs_ LOL, corsets are absolutely tight (intentionally so) and did much damage to women's skin. No mansplaining required. Trust a woman to tell you about the "comfort" of a corset, then or now. Early versions were literally made with animal bones. There is no way to make that "comfortable" LMAO.
@@precious926again, depends on the era. Regency era corsets we’re actually stays and they were not tight laced. There were other eras of corsets that were.
I enjoyed rewatching Bridgerton with you. I especially enjoy reactions of men to my favorite show. (I subscribe to several channels just for this show.). Can't wait for Season 2. It's still my favorite.
One of the only series that doesn't lose quality as the seasons go by in my opinion. The second one is my favorite and I'm looking forward to the fourth one.😭
I read the books this is based on. This show takes it to a whole other level. The books didn't have the queen involved, she's a welcome addition though. This is Regency England, the Victorian era doesn't start for a while. The upper class is known as the 'ton' and they really did have the debutante balls and 'marriage mart'. This takes you on a wild ride with this family.
Yep, you'll hear a lot of modern melodies played in the style of 19th century ensemble orchestras. And you were right! It was Ariana Grande. Specifically "thank u, next".
Yeah, the Chinese developed gun powder (and from there, fireworks) in the 9th century. It took a while to travel across the world, but by the 13th century, gunpowder and fireworks made their way to Europe. Also, those lamps above them at the dance were surprising to the characters because gas lighting was only just discovered in 1807, a few years before the time the show is set, in 1813.
The best part of Bridgerton for me is the narration by the legendary and iconic Julie Andrews. The fact that the Duke of Hastings is a feast for the eyes is just an ancillary benefit. lol
I love the writing, acting, authenticity of the costumes and settings and the orchestration modern music is chef’s kiss! You will so enjoy the experience.
Everyone's got their favorite, but Colin has always been my absolute #1 Bridgerton sibling! He's just a genuinely good guy. I look forward to seeing which characters and seasons you guys vibe with, because the Bridgerton fandom has very strong (and wildly differing) opinions on all of them! There are a lot of people saying season 2 is the best, but it's actually my least favorite. But that's kind of the great thing about this show... each season is its own different kind of story. Not all of them resonate with everyone, but that also means that there is something for everyone.
Season 1 will always be special just bc it was the first BUT season 2 so far after Queen Charolette (even this QC is not part of Bridgerton books) is the best.
OMG, yes! I am not kidding when I say I have been thirsting for this reaction! I think this show might surprise you. I went into it thinking I would find it boring or overly sexual but it is neither. Yes, there is sex - especially in this first episode, but it is balanced with drama, humor, and high-brow sass. I found the show rather addictive! I said it before and I'll say it again, it's like a spicy Downton Abbey set in an earlier time period.
Yes season 2 is better than 1 and 3 but is it better than Queen Charlotte, that is the question and I don't know, i love them both. Hard to choose between them ❤
Season 2 was my absolute obsession for a solid two years. It's the only reason I kept Netflix. Watching numerous channel reactions and musical edits for the couple's romance fed my obsession. Love Season 3 also. Oh, and Queen Charlotte is wonderful! Has a totally different feel. Very well done!
Keep it up fellas. I watched GOT with you, and I have not seen bridgerton or really care too, but Imma give it a try. I've also suffered from giant forehead-withdrawals, so this is the place to be. peace.
❤❤ I just started following you guys. I'm so happy that yall are starting Bridgerton . Imo Queen Charlotte is the best but only watch it after season two of Bridgerton it will make better sense
I have never clicked so fast! Much lighter than Game of Thrones, that's for sure. Compared to GOT this is light drama. A nice fun time. . When it comes to Anthony and his Mistress Sienna, it is a very, very poor match. Being a female singer/actor in this time period means (more often than not) that she was also a sex worker. This is generally understood by everyone. Even though they may be working and making their own money, it is usually not enough to keep them well. They need a home, clothes, and food. So they usually take on a single patron and become a mistress to a rich man. Sometimes that didn't work out so she had more casual relationships with many men to earn her income. Marrying below your status lowers your own status in everyone's eyes. Everyone will give you the side eye, may decide to not trust your judgment or character. It also has blowback onto the rest of the family. His brothers and sisters will suffer as well. This is also why Lady Feathrington is so pissed at the cousin Marina. Being pregnant out of wedlock ruins not only herself, but also the whole Featherington family. Lady Featherington has 3 girls she needs to see married well, and Marina just destroyed all their chances. Her daughters will be ruined right along with Marina at worst, or thought to have questionable character at best. In this time period, you are guilty by association. Everything that happens to you, good or bad, happens to your family as well.
about the age difference, it's never really said in the show, but we can assume... Daphne is a debutante, so about 18 at the oldest (she should've been in the club!). The Duke went to university with Anthony (oldest Bridgerton brother) so at least 27/28. bit of a large gap but definitely not as bad as tvd 😂
Loving the reaction! I’m really bad at names, but where’s the 4th guy who loved the terrifier movies? Anyway, I’m excited for you guys if you pursue s2. It’s personally way better than s1. Bridgerton is filled with cringy tropes but it’s so good regardless… and don’t worry you will get the bee reference haha. I LOVE Eloise and Penelope’s relationship this season. There are other great characters i can’t mention yet. But it’s genuinely amazing xx
what a choice to follow up game of thrones with 😂 excited to see you react to this though! btw have you guys seen the dungeons and dragons movie yet? it’s a good one, makes for a great reaction, and the male lead for this one appears in a fun role

Petition for every season finale for the boys to dress up as a Bridgerton character
I concur to that.
yes! Regency era clothing! Go boys!
Any recommendations on where we can find good deals on clothing?
Someone help! I’m not from America😂

Each season of the show is based on a series of books that follows the Bridgerton siblings as they all found love in their own separate stories.
So excited for the Bridgerton era with the Raggedy Pack! Cant wait for yall to get to the Queen Charlotte season. Hands down my favorite.

Oh man i have never cried so hard. That show was incredible.

I started this series thinking "what a bummer it will be" and I watched the first season in two days 😂 it's not game of thrones, but it's very good

The moment Lady Danbury showed up, she was my favorite.
The narration for "Lady Whistledown" is Julie Andrews. Mary Poppins etc. She doesn't appear onscreen.
I'm finally looking forward to season 2 which is my favorite 😭
season 2 is my new romance comfort watch
"I wonder what's up with the bee, what that symbolises?" Oh just you wait!
Welcome to the Bridgerton world gentlemen. I'm excited to watch with you guys.
From mostly seeing Blake in agony from all horror movie reactions, it is pretty nice to hear him laugh. 🤣
It’s nice to have something to look forward to every now and again 😵💫
“This is London” it’s actually Bath 😭 a lot of historical television is filmed in Bath but it’s the opposite side of the country than London fun fact
Always important to point this out: CORSETS WEREN'T THAT TIGHT. They were made to fit the body perfectly and women wore them all day with comfort.
It really depended on the era and what the social status was. It was very common for women to break several ribs to fit into a 9-inch waist standard. Women of higher class would make the corsets this tight (and tighter) to the point of long term breathing issues and fainting. But I do agree, corsets were the common bra back then

This series is really fun to watch... love the drama of all the girls and guys.
Bridgerton is set in alternate universe where diverse people lived opulently in Regency England, so no need to worry about historical accuracy at all.
