Woven rock sling

  • In this tutorial I demonstrate an easy way to make a paracord rock sling using the process of weaving.
    This style of rock slings is quite common. It is easy to make and works.
    When determining the sling length I usually want the sling to be as long as the distance between my extended arms and my knees.
    You can naturally use any length you are comfortable with.
    That said, take at least 7 feet of cord when making this sling. I'd take 10 for a comfortable weave.
    See the photo tutorial here:
    www.paracordgui...
    Be sure to practice slinging if you want to use it as a survival tool. Practice with caution, the sling is a deadly weapon.

    Thank you for being honest, unlike so many other slinger vids: "...making the rocksling is the easy part. Learning how to master it- to actually hit something is an entirely different matter".

    Follow up to my previous post...took the Damascus bead off the release end and went back to just a plain knot. The end flung round and hit me in the hand and twice...ouch. Plain knot works just fine.

    Great video. Very easy to follow. It would be easy to adjust the weave to make a bigger pouch if wanted. I'm looking forward to throwing some rock with them. On my second version I added a Damascus bead to the release end. Looks cool but haven't tried it yet. Thanks for taking the time to post this tutorial. Cheers!

    what an easy tying compare to ananas knot, turkish head variants or herringbone interweave that I learned first ^^ I like the curved coffin style on your sling, I will do it today and test it ! Thank you !
    I just suggest an end step by centering the bowline from the sides of the pouch, to avoid a potential unbalance during the throw :)

    Is there a way to make this sling with a braided down and release cord, instead of the single string?

    It would be more effective to weave the ropes through the centre edge of each side of the cup.. As it is the projectile will be unbalanced.

    • @joewoodchuck3824
      @joewoodchuck3824 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think it will be unbalanced at all. Pull from the diagonally opposing corners stabilizes it.
