I liked War Robots in the time when the tops were Rhino, Griffin, Carnage, Lancelot... Today robots have illogical abilities. If they released a version of War Robots of this old one from 2017 or even 2018, there would be a lot more people playing than the current version. Today I play Mech Arena.
another good thing about the skin in mech arena is that the weapon color will match with the color of the skin when you put it on your robot, we dont have this in war robot though

And dont have like warning player someone stealing the beacon, or message the player they need cover or etc. While mech arena, no laggy, having same colour on robot. And etc. Im disappointed pixonic owner, abandoned and sold the game to upwake company. Idk why main owner do that, i think he retired or idk... I wish he stay, and it could make game much better. Ive been playing mech arena since beta and I love this game also just making sure you know but you can upgrade your energy capacity by upgrading the rank of the mech and I love that mechs that you unlock early game can carry you all the way through to endgame assuming you upgrade them of course also its nice that you dont lose firepower at low hp
I stopped playing War Robots around 2018 and I feel so left in the dust about all this crazy stuff that they added and it seems so complicated. Mech Arena makes me feel like how i used to feel playing War Robots before the fall from grace and i like how upgrades don't require to wait real time to complete or pay money to speed it up and you don't have to upgrade each individual weapon

IMO mech arena is less p2w then wr and the f2p grind is way easier on mech arena. Since the movement speed is increased and the robots all have really unique abilities that you can get creative with, it requires more skill.

Mech Arena feels more Free To Play while War of Robots feel more Pay To Win. Yes Both games has P2W aspects but Mech Arena gives you more awards to give you a chance to compete by grinding while War of Robots is extremely aggravating in grinding to get something good and still get outclassed.
I personally love lech arena because its fast paced and I really like to get into a battle as fast as I can and that is something that Mech Arena provides that I believe War Robots doesnt
about the lore point: war robot has more, but it does absolutely NOTHING with it whatsoever. meanwhile while Mech Arena's lore is simple, it does the job at fleshing out the PvP matches (as its literally what it is in-universe, a destructive "blood" sport (in quotes as no one gets injured since all that enters the arena is unmanned) to make some use out of now unused war machines). also I find it ironic that the titles of BOTH games are wrong: war robot's machines are called robots, while they are mechs (they have a pilot inside them), and mech arena's machines arent mechs, but drones (piloted remotely) and overall, bth games are money sinks, though i'd give the edge to mech arena as powercreep doesnt define the meta and while the purchases are on average more expensive, the money you spend is more respected long term

In the end both games are pay-to-win since you are on a disadvantage if you don't donate. Mech arena has a lot of high end weapons, mechs, pilots, etc. that are like 95 to 100% unobtainable without donations. Though I wouldn't even use the term "donation" once a game free-to-play game "encourages" you to spend hundreds of real money. The prices in many mobile games are insane. And if I have to choose between a new weapon or mech in a mobile game or a new triple A title for PC or console, or a new graphics card or a console or something, I'd definately not put that much money into a mobile game. But that's just my point of view. Sadly there are very few mobile games that are actually free-to-play, like BoT (Battle of Titans) for example. Sure this game seems to be rather unknown, there are few weapons, mechs and maps, but is has good cutomization options without pilots and implants. Almost everything is available for ingame currency and you can play as much as you want without any tickets and stuff. Though reaching the endgame content might take a while without donations, yet the prices are much lower than in Mech Arena.
Ugh, I feel you. The line between truly free-to-play and "freemium" is so thin these days. Like, I totally get that developers need to make their money somewhere, but there's a limit, right? Dropping hundreds on a mobile game? No thanks. It sounds like BoT is doing something right, though. More games should take a page out of their book. If the experience is good and feels fair, players will support it. Simple as that.
While the scale of War Robots isn't clear and varies, from the average size/dimensions of the mechs from both games, I would say that in an actual fight the robots from War Robots easily win...probably because they're averaging half the size of most Mech Arena maps XD
You forgot to mention the number one problem of war robots is the crippling lag. It's killing the play experience of war robots. Pixonic will probably never address this lag problem ever....so I'm playing mech arena and enjoying the butter smooth pings.

So far there is not a lot of content, but if game receives much needed attention and community in size similar to mech arena or War robots, it may out shine both

mech arena now are pretty much boring, cuz the weapon equipment/pilot modules on BOTS are OP compare with currently u have (spend $600 still left behind) . meanwhile WR robot are boring when latest weapon came out along with OP drone stats. (need to spend another $1000 to keep up mk3 and everything). for gameplay mech arena is more reasonable, for more fun WR robots is more last long.

In my opinion. I think mech arena is for the younger kids, and war robots it for the older, more experienced. But Im not calling you a baby, Im just saying one looks more colorful and the other is more action packed.
