I had an idea on how the devs could have still had this song in the mod, before it got canned:
Make it a sort of bad ending, something akin to Wednesday's infidelity's bad ending, have the song be right after doomsday, and have Squidward's corpse still dead on the ground, because he still kills himself, but he's just a ghost or something. Also, he doesn't switch forms, but has new sprites, like Mickey does in last day.
