I know they are a pain to do, but you don't have to lift the engine. I know they can add anywhere from 10-20 hp if I'm not mistaken. I'll be able to tell ya later this month, since I'll be taking my car to the dyno.
man that ford sounds like heaven, very smart man when it comes to choose the right muffler for the right engine. There is nothing in this world better than a V8 ford, GOD BLESS FORD AND GOD BLESS AMERICA.
The headers alone are going to run you about 800-900, depending on where you get them from. Everything else, like h/x pipe, and these mufflers, should be around 500-600 to include installation.
Yea I had a hell of a time with the headers on my mustang and its more open then the vic. And I was reading for this one set of long tube headers for the vic they wanted you to lift the engine off the engine mounts a little to install them. Yea if you could that'd be great. I'm pretty sure my cars exhaust is a little restricting with the blower. But I'm stuck between headers an intercooler or methanol injection as far as performance wise. Slowly I'll get it all and more but decisions decisions
Lol yea that'll help. Yea I'm just thinking the exhaust is too restrictive for the added exhaust being pushed through and that's just hurting the cars ability to make power. And with me wanting to make more power I need to make sure I'm utilizing the power I have now as much as I can if that makes sense and not restricting the power. Plus it just sounds bad ass with the headers on your car
Sounds great check out my Vic It don't sound as good yet but all it has is new muffler and h pipe it has all four cats too soon will be high flow and headers
Thats just rough estimation if you were to take it to a shop, the price should come down more if you can do the work yourself. I do plan on making another video. Look for that here real soon.
The headers alone are going to run you like $600-800, depending on which brand and who you get them from. Everything else should be maybe another $300-400, including mufflers, piping and labor.
I have a 2007 Crown Vic and will keep it for many years. I'll be conducting my own research but could you point me towards some things I can do to make mine sound more like yours? I call it a rattle can sound although I think that others might disagree, but I like the sound of the grey Ford Mustang in the movie Gone in 60 Seconds. I love that chugging sound. I have a low budget considering by necessity I need to replace the oil pump plus the brake pads and drums right away. I'm thinking I'll just buy some sort of exhaust system for it? I'm not a performance person so long as it works, I have no need to race people here in the city. I'm just looking for a mean ass sound to it and that it's well-running, nothing fancy.
It depends on the budget. I mean if you want to save money, keep the stock H-pipe and put on some flowmasters. Depending on which series of flowmasters, the rattle can sound can be achieved. To increase the sound, remove the resonators by the tailpipes. If you have a bigger budget, headers will be in that conversation. I'll say this, out of the loudest that I had so far were the Flowmasters Super 10s and the Dynomax Race Bullets (shortest).
A little too much too type lol, but check it out here. This is the video of when i brought her home initially brought her home with out the tune... I just put it in the description
Awww thanks. The car has been totally redone though with a new setup. On this one, she doesn't have no cats. New setup should be good to go here in the next couple of weeks.
When they were off, basically I had the SCT programmer turn off the check engine light and that was it. After that, no problem. I would say just keep the two cats on or replace the 4 with 2 hiflow cats. I only did it because this isn't my daily driver.
***** With the cats it won't be as loud, but it will give your car more tone. Did the muffler delete before and all I can say is, I only did it for a week.
I love the sound, I wish the wife's '93 Lincoln sounded like that, its too damn quiet...Gotta warn people she coming so they can duck for cover! loud pipes save lives!
lol, that's how my intake was when I switched to the CAI system. Cheaper solution for you instead of replacing the mufflers would be to get rid of those resonators.
I was looking at the Stainless Works full exhaust but the price tag made me faint. With the oem exhaust just ditching the resonators wont make it look at me loud, specially in this town! But... I wanted to upgrade the intake to the PI along with the 75mm throttle body first, and a hardware store ziptube. it may be annoyingly quiet but it still flows enough to handle a few minor mods before "needing" any exhaust upgrade.
Try ADTR.net. They actually have the intake parts for these cars. I can't blame you on the SW full exhaust setup. Yeah it is very pricey. Yeah and by ditching the resonators won't make it drastically loud, but changing mufflers at the sametime will help.
Are you afraid of that car or something? Step on it, dude! I came for rock-n-roll!

Took me awhile to get the right setup that wanted... but I think I finally got it where I want it.
Lol yea that'll help. Yea I'm just thinking the exhaust is too restrictive for the added exhaust being pushed through and that's just hurting the cars ability to make power. Yeah even though I don't have this setup no more, hopefully it helps others in their build.
damn thats a nice car bro.. you still have it?
Sounds great check out my Vic It don't sound as good yet but all it has is new muffler and h pipe it has all four cats too soon will be high flow and headers
That sounds so beautiful I may cry. Did they have to lift the engine to install the headers? Any idea about how much hp the headers added?
i have a 96 grand marquis and this is the sound im lookin for ...how much was your setup if you dont mind me asking
Thats just rough estimation if you were to take it to a shop, the price should come down more if you can do the work yourself. I do plan on making another video. Look for that here real soon.
I had to watch this video again, probably the best sounding car! I want to put on some bullets but do you have the 4 cats? or no cats...?
The headers alone are going to run you like $600-800, depending on which brand and who you get them from. Everything else should be maybe another $300-400, including mufflers, piping and labor.
Ok thanks, can you tell me the total price from everything including labor?

so you have the flowmaster muffler or the dynomax mufflers
Believe though headers on these cars, are like night and day without them. Well I did change the gears too at the same time I did the headers. lol
I actually have the dynomax mufflers... still have the flowmasters sitting in the garage.
A little too much too type lol, but check it out here. This is the video of when i brought her home initially brought her home with out the tune... I just put it in the description
You should try a set of Hooker Black hearts. Probably the best I’ve heard yet next to magnaflow and Borla.
Bizzenn1976 yeah i can say i haven't heard of those. Ill take a look at them.
appreciate that, but I put the flowmasters back on.
nice.. what all u got done to her
Is that the stock piping?
Was hoping for higher rpms,do you have other videos?
yeah check out my other page... I just put the link up
mrvic2004 Will do...
Does this car have the 4 cats on?
Awww thanks. The car has been totally redone though with a new setup. On this one, she doesn't have no cats. New setup should be good to go here in the next couple of weeks.
What did you do after the cats where off? any problems? I am thinking of just the two rear cat deletes so I don't run into problems.

Apparently removing the 2/4 cats is okay. How much louder are these dynomax bullets then a regular muffler delete only?
***** With the cats it won't be as loud, but it will give your car more tone. Did the muffler delete before and all I can say is, I only did it for a week.
yes sir... actually she's been redone completely
LOL yeah but I put the Flowmasters back on though...
Do you have cats on?
Okay thanks alot
No sir! 2.5 all the way from the headers.
yo bro i seen in the video this look like grandview i live here in grandview i would like to get in contact with you i have a vic too
That's what's up... Just hit me up
I love the sound, I wish the wife's '93 Lincoln sounded like that, its too damn quiet...Gotta warn people she coming so they can duck for cover! loud pipes save lives!
lol... just switching mufflers will change that.
Yeah its all original, it has the dual exhaust system with resonators. the engine's fan is louder then everything else...LOL
lol, that's how my intake was when I switched to the CAI system. Cheaper solution for you instead of replacing the mufflers would be to get rid of those resonators.
