This fix will not work for long time. That small branch of plastic which is broken is act as a spring. It will break again and again if you just simply glue it together. Better solution would be by Opel/GM to redesign the whole piece and use an oval hole for the last flap and not a plastic spring. I made an self designed piece from some scrap plastic and needle files.

+Christian Black 18 months has passed from the making of this video and the vents are still ok :)

+Christian Black - They are probably not going to redesign a piece for a car that has been out of production for almost 10 years now :-)

What kind of glue did you use, please ?
The problem with the slider is this part has to be narrower for two reasons : 1) the shape allows a moving part from the slate just over it to pass behind it, and 2) most important, it acts as a spring to lock the slates in closed position.
As a result, it forms a weak spot that always breaks there, as it's both narrower and getting stressed.
So your glue has to actually stand a strong bending force applied exactly where you repaired the slider. I just don't know any kind of glue being so efficient on ABS plastic and able to stand such repeated stress over time !
So really, I'd like to know what you were using there. ^_^
The problem is a lot of people can't help pushing with their fingers on the bottom slate, I don't know why... And they always end up braking the slider. Same for people cleaning cars... When they come to cleaning the vents, they press so hard while wiping them they break the sliders. I had it cleaned once and the guy broke ALL of them ! :-p

***** the glue used is "the drop" www.fenedur.com don't know if its world wide available, but its very good. About 10 months have passed and the slider is still ok so... we are happy with the result.

      opelpedia Thank you !
It seems quite difficult to find, though. On the maker's website, there are only links to Spanish or Eastern Europe pages, and more important, i can't find any dealer...

No need to disassemble. You can put the glue with a small stick. 😉

opelpedia I actually replaced them with used facelift parts to get the nicer chrome rollers... ;-) I also had the peeling off matt black coated version, and managed to get the same painted grey version as yours, along with a pre-face CID centre surround for an upgrade project from GID to CID. :-)
There are many used parts for sale so you can get them for cheap. However, the slider will still be prone to breaking, unfortunately. The best move would be to make new parts of steel, for instance...
Too bad this is a really weak spot, as otherwise, the idea to completly close the slates is unique to this car and a feature I wouldn''t want to miss... The Vectra C featured so many cool innovations that aren't found anywhere else, even on more recent models !
I really wouldn't replace my beloved GTS for anything else, at least not for the next decade. Minimum. :-)

It is already broken on the other cars or will broke soon because material is weakened or already have a crack. I picked a vent from a breaker yard but it is failed soon.

there is no easy solution, those parts are very sensitive, GM should have built from other materials such as aluminum or polymer, stuff that doesnt break that easy, i fiexd them on my 2008 Vectra C ( i had broken 3 out of 4 ventrs) i am sure that they will break again.
      Thank you for the video!!!
