I love that Alltimers color scheme, the teal top, with the red middle ply and the teal bottom. Also if you like that shape, the Alltimers boards are all the stock BBS shapes. So other brands like Sci-Fi Fantasy also use that shape. I think Polar uses that same shape for their 8.25 probably a bunch of others.
I agree with both that width and WB as well but what is your ideal board length? something I feel like is overlooked. I’ve found 31.75 to be my favorite combo with those measurements
I am less picky about overall length actually. I’ve been on a 32 for awhile and it’s been pretty good, some decks 31.9 feels too long, others 31.875 feels about right for me.
Currently over my 2023 skate madness.....finally...hopefully. Started the year off with Indy 149's, which I loved all last year and didn't need to change. Got the Stage 4 146's out of curiosity and again, I didn't need to change them...they felt nice. I started mixing and matching baseplates and hangers for some reason, then bought Ace Af1 55's because they were the only truck I had never tried. My current Polar 8.25 with 14.25wb seems to just work for me, and I am starting to get more consistent with this setup compared to my previous setups which were 8.25/8.5 Girl boards on the flatter side.
I’ve never heard of the fingers of flat until I came across your videos and Ben’s. It’s good to know because sometimes I feel I want a less responsive deck regarding pop. I skate thunder 147s, a truck that’s only 50mm tall on a baker board. Baker boards are pretty mellow kick as you know, so the tail snaps quicker. However, I do like the trade off of not feeling as fatigued during and after the session. I still get very good pop despite how low and mellow the setup is.
The shape of the board looks good, I like the sharp transition to nose and tail, that can make flip tricks more consistent. I ride 8.25 symmetrical board and now I wouldn't go back to to others. Mob griptape is my choice, I simply sand down the areas that are too grippy (usually around flicking areas and middle of the boards. Ace tool is great, although I wish it was lighter. BTW spacers would make any ball bearings last longer and perform better even when fully squeezed to the truck, it can even prevent your trucks from bending. And that bigger one is for the kingpin, if you mess it up on smiths/feebles x)
A lot of people I follow or speak with have stepped down to 8.25” lately. Me included having ridden 8.5” or 8.625” for the past two years. I’ve been skating a 8.25” Darkstar Celtic board I got like two or three years ago for a week now. First time really riding Ventures too and I’m digging it. Venture Hollows 5.6 Hi’s are low (not actual Lows but they are 52mm) snappy and feel pretty great. Prior to that I’d been mostly skating Aces (on dry days) and Indies (on wet days). Not really missing the bigger setup and enjoying the lighter feeling board.
It’s a lot cleaner to grip decks indoors if you don’t scrape the line around the edge. Just cut it from below with a newer blade and it will be so much cleaner. I also feel like doing it without a scrape gives you grippier grip and clean flips.
Nice I just setup a 8.38 All Timers board today. Some generic vines graphics lol but it has a nice shape. Looks like the same shape as yours even almost
Your new set up looks good. It’s nice to see you go down to an 8.25, because it may help me in my decision to go down to that size after my skate injury feels better. 👍
Solid setup! I‘m still stuck on Thunder 149s, 8.38“ 14.25, with 52mm conical fulls, next will be my beloved Indy forged h. 149s with an 8.25“ 14.38 WB deathwish again and after that I plan on finally going to a more tech 8.25“ with 52mm classics, Thunder 148 lights and an April 8.25“
How would you compare Indy Mid to Thunders? For some reason my consistency goes way down when im on thunders, but Id like a lower truck. so thinking of swapping my regular hollow indys for the mid hollws ? Did they heavier weight of the mids throw you off?
I really liked the mids - if you prefer the turn of the indy but looking for something a little lower, you'll probably like them. Good happy medium between a thunder and indy but more leaning on the indy side as they still make your WB shorter and aren't as low as a thunder.
Hi Adriano Thank👍you! After watching this video, Im a little more convinced to get a set-of Indy mids. Again, thanks😎dude! (i dare-you to try a ZooYork deck)
Ok, I get it. This board is responsive. But less fingers of flat generally means the rise of the tail starts earlyer and thus tip of the tail is a bit higher from the ground and that does not get you faster pop. Yes you have more time to but the energy in and thus have stronger pop. The longer the tail, the faster it pops because it hits ground faster. So I think it's easyer if you provide the length of the tail and the degree and fingers of flat. If you like shorter tails for responsivness then it means there is less material to flex and thus it feels more responsive. So in other hand you can have also a big tail but if the wood is stiff and hard, it will be responsive anyway. I do get it, this deck is responsive.
Hey everyone, thanks for watching :) Comment for the algo, it really helps.

I see Adriano, I click
Thanks dude!
Love 8.25” with 14.25” wheel base as well. That seems to be my goldi-locks zone. That teal/blue top vernier happens to also be my favorite.
For real, I feel the same way.

Big fan of the 14.25 after skating an egg

i just came home from work, and saw this i also ride 8.25 this is so relaxing while drinking coffee

Nice, I agree. The smaller board is easier to do flip tricks.
I have been asking 8.5 for the past year, just set up an 8.25, and damn things are feeling snappy
Nice! What did you set up?
@@fiore_adriano guy Mariano April deck 8.25 14”WB. 144 Indy hollows and 52mm F4 spitfire classics 👌🏽

I got 2 8.5 alltimers and 1 8.25 alltimers and they are really good! The shape of both size are perfect but im more into the 8.5!
Dig the spitfire 52's. Takes me back.

I do a wide racing stripe and put my thumb inside that way my thumb never even touches the grip.

Nice! I almost bought the Thunder 148 lights! The 2 things holding me back are wheel bite and less base plate for noseslide/tailslide
@@fiore_adriano less plate is a good point, but why wheel bite? Isn‘t 51mm high enough for you? The Mindys are 52mm if I remember correctly?
Either way I get wheel bite, I just need to tighten my trucks I guess. Haha
@@fiore_adriano yeah or maybe start riding boards with wheel wells :D
Good day sir, may I ask for suggestions like, what is the better size for the wheels for a 8.25 deck.. Thank you
It depends on the application. Am I wrong to assume you're a beginner? Can't go wrong with 52 or 53mm spitfire formula 4 classics.
You should really try satori wheels i think they are really underrated and they are super similar to spitfire i think you would like them

Idk why but I love set up videos. You ever do any grip art? Im a fan of the vertical line on my toe side.
Never really do griptape art but I've been thinking of doing the 90's 3 piece job. Maybe next set up. I like the simplicity of a clean grip job.
welcome back
Looooove that deck!
your bearings are backwards! the side with the black ring faces outwards on Bronson G3s
Doesn’t buying the spare nuts defy the purpose of re thread tool ?
A re threader is for the axle, not the nuts. Non of the axles were actually stripped.
Bearings are in backwards 😜
the bigger one is for the kingpin !
Figured that out afterwards 😂
8.25 is sweet spot size. Not too small...
Great Vid! Got my sub and I havn't seen ya skate yet haha
Thanks dude!
Got 3 sets of G3s on sale for 20€ each, so cheaper than Reds and really good
Hi Adriano

Eh thanks dude! Never tried one, probably won't. haha
The G3s are the only bearing I’ll ever skate 💥

all grip tears my thumb apart even when i sand down my nose
Will marshall is my homie hes so good and there boards are very amazing i had a few and there shapes are some of the best i ever skated
The Re-Threader is not working...at least with my tool. :-(
Damn, sorry to hear that.
Bronson g2 are the same price if not cheaper than redz and still last way longer
Adriano, can you yell me how tall you are and your feet size?
6' and size 11 US
More fingers of flat will make the tail hit sooner. Less fingers of flat will make the tail steeper and you will have to pop harder.
You're right. I said it wrong, I apologize.
U left the sticker on then gripped it. I feel sick
