Exploring North York Moors: Solo Female House Sitting Adventure - from Dogs to Dales 🐾

- Hey guys! Join me for some relaxation and animal fun as I visit Yorkshire for the first time. I had a house sit for a really funny gang of dogs and cats, went for some beautiful walks on the North York Moors and visited the Danby Show - this was the biggest country show I’ve ever been too and it was quite a sight! The heather was in bloom, the moors were peaceful even in the summer holidays, and I really enjoyed having some dog company while exploring and also chilling at home. #travel #housesitting #cutedogs
Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching,
Tori x

Watching your videos always makes me feel calm and relaxed. Your vibe is magical 😊
Yeah, she's such a kind heart and the photography is gorgeous.
it warms the heart to see that family all found one another ❤
Lovely video, so good to see a home where the animals are truly part of the family, and not restricted to areas and not allowed on the furniture.
What a great place to live, looked like you had a good time there 👍🏻
Couldn't agree more! No fun pet sitting if the animals aren’t allowed on the sofa 🐶
Great video with the beautiful Tori in my beautiful Yorkshire hope you liked it up near Whitby house sitting and the smile on your face when you are around animals was amazing and great to see you happy hope you are okay and well be safe and take care tori another great watch ❤xxx
Thank you so glad you liked it! So you are from Yorkshire, rally it is so lovely i could have stayed there forever it felt really good being there what a landscape. Take care too thanks for watching ❤️ xxx
@@missnancysdayoff hi Tori glad you liked the North Yorkshire moors it’s such a lovely place and many thanks for the reply hope you are ok and well and your face lights up when you are around animals it’s so nice to see you and happy be safe and take care looking forward to your next video ❤️xxx
Looks like you had a great time with the dogs🐕🦺 and cat😺 always nice to see you smile take care lovely lady
I did they were great fun and really cheerful characters, thank you ☺️
The North Yorkshire Moors are beautiful, Tori.. you caught them perfectly with your filmimg. Us humans could certainly learn a thing or two from how animals get on . The two dogs and cat are great example. The footage of Danby show was great. Thanks for posting.
thanks do glad you liked it! I did really enjoy seeing the cats and dogs together, I’ve always dreamed of having both, it’s so sweet.❤️
What lovely dogs just like emy she now departed and great place for them
so lovely. Emy ❤️ I’m sorry
That little lurchers is beautiful ❤
Really cute little chap ❤️
Great! I loved the Onions and the Steam Equipment...
Me too! Never thought id be editing videos of giant onions to lilting music 😅
Lol, my Sheba loves to kill boxes too. Great to see you with dogs again. XX
It cracks me up, and such a cheap way to have fun! Xx
@@missnancysdayoff I class Sheba as my own little confetti machine, just put food in and give her boxes, of course I do have to have a mailbox, would be daft not too really. lol
Nice to see you having a lovely time in a great part of the country. You always look happy around animals, especially dogs and cats. There are several good country shows including the Great Yorkshire show and all are very popular and very big. They can take a full day to walk round.
It was great! Yeah all the animals bring me a lot of joy. I love having dogs and cats at home, i love cows and sheep and pigs as well though they are all just so sweet and funny and worth getting to know. I can see how the show could have taken a whole day, it was huge!
Awe I’ve always wanted to go here- love the all creatures books/ tv shows so much. You were so lucky to be there at full Heather time too. The housemates are super cute! 💜💜💜
It's so good! We should go. They were really good housemates miss them ♥️
The little blond girl looks like she’s in charge. She certainly knows how to manage the grey boy’s exuberance. That’s not even taking into account the pillow princess scene (not that there is anything wrong with being a pillow princess!). You were smart to keep the dogs leashed. Two of the dogs I’ve help catch this past year had either ran away from dog sitters or escaped from the dog sitters’ homes, while nearly causing myocardial infarctions.
Oh yes blondie definitely was in charge when she wanted to be! She’s much older than him, it was funny watching them together. Yes lead only walks for their safety and my heart, it’s not worth it with someone else’s dog, best to keep them safe. ❤️
That heather really is glorious, and somehow you caught the weather yet again....
honestl sun followed me everywhere this summer!
Enjoyable experience Tori, great dogs and getting on so well with the cat.
Thanks glad you liked it, bit of a random one but such a. Nice time ☺️
That looks like great fun. Thank you for sharing! ❤
Thanks for watching!❤️
Dogs and cats getting along just love it! 🐆🐱
Just hanging gout being pals 😍
Lovely vid, smile on your face said it all, heartbeat country ❤️
Thank you 😊 I forgot it was heartbeat!
@@missnancysdayoff keep smiling, take care, look forward to next vid 👍
The bee is working hard while the cat enjoys a relaxing sunbath. Two species…two radically different lifestyles.
Funny isn’t it. All animals have a purpose and a right to fulfil it naturally. Bees are very hard working, I know some bee keepers and for a fact they love their bees and spend a lot of time and money trying to keep them alive, but the urge to them take the hard made honey away, I can’t quite understand it!
@@missnancysdayoff Same. Not only stressful to the colony, but some bees are inevitably injured or killed during hive management. Then there’s the larger issue of domestic bees harming native bee populations, many of whom are actually more efficient pollinators than domestic spp. Although, other forms of human activity pose greater threats to native spp so I’m not one to condemn my little domestic bee friends visiting my garden. All this may feel like a non-issue to many people, but it’s important to the various bee species and individuals, along with native plant species.
That is a pigging glorious video!
I absolutely love that kind of show - everything is well worth looking at, enjoying and admiring. I'm quite jealous of you
@Neilhuny it was total insanity! But good fun 😊
What a pretty spot. The doggies and cats got on well. I hope you got something nice to eat at the show. I think I would have bought the ducky walking stick. My mum was obsessed by collecting those wooden duck figurines. It was like an Alfred Hitchcock set in her house! Enjoy the rest of your adventure.
So pretty, they did get on well although i did catch them chasing the poor cat one day (the cat im not sure you even saw because she was quite shy!) just in jest i think but i did tell them off! Couldn’t find anything to eat that wasn’t made of animals so i didn’t. The walking sticks were cool, you mums house sounds interesting but maybe a little scary 🤭 thank you!
Another great video Tori I said you would be good at house sitting. You really do come alive around animals seeing your lovely smile and your eyes light up. Glad you had a good time at a local show I am not good with crowds either. Take care of yourself you seem to be enjoying life atm carry on doing what your doing hugs as always.😊
thank you! i think i am a pretty good housesitter 😅 Animals are just soothing for the soul, they really help me feel calm and content. always feel lucky to hang out with them. just trying to keep myself occupied, 🤗
Lovely, you made it to my beautiful home county! Hope you liked it, August was a good time to visit. It's a little colder and wetter now. 🌧
Those two dogs were cute together. Maybe I should get a little buddy for my Alfie. 🐾
I did! And what a country it is. Yeah i was lucky it was really sunny most of the time, excessively windy though! I don’t mind cold and wet I’d like to come back and see some more. They were so cute, but all i can say is one dog is a lot easier than two 😅
@missnancysdayoff You're a proper Yorkshire lass now, going to Danby show. You weren't too far away from the coast from there either. Danby about 50 miles away from us. North Yorkshire is a pretty big county!
Enjoyable and varied video thank you for sharing.I get your point of view about the Greyhounds(also how to spot a retired one😊)❤
Thanks I’m glad you enjoyed it! Yep, we are literally saving the life of a dog when we get one from rescue, and make space for another to come in from the pounds where dogs get put to sleep everyday. It’s a lovely thing. 😅 yeah i can’t help noticing!
Tori, At last you reached 'Gods own country'❤❤❤ breathtaking 🎉 landscape with changing 'moods' its alive through the seasons. You can see why the Bronte family loved it and wrote about it. Captain James Cook, probably one of Britain's greatest navigators grew up on the edge of it and sailed from its ports to sharpen his sailing skills. It has also inspired Dracula stories I love it.Take care and enjoy the rest of your journey.
I did and god is doing pretty well for himself! I’ve never actually read any Brontë, I d have one here perhaps O should start it. I’d love to see all the seasons. someone I met did tell me about it inspiring Dracula or him visiting Whitby?! so there’s another one i need to read. thank you ☺️
@@missnancysdayoff Conan Doyle visited Whitby and saw the ruins of the Abbey and grave yard and wrote the Dracula story around it. Dracula's coffin falls off a ship from Transylvania and is washed ashore and the story begins...🧛♂️ ....of the UNDEAD
Hey Tori, beautiful video and what an amazing part of the country, those 2 dogs are hilarious and was great to see them out on an adventure with you, love when they are taking in the view!
Also, that was some serious onions and…
…amusing shaped vegetables 😂
Hope you are well and having a good week xx ❤
Thanks! It was so nice up there, they were funny guys i need to make a short of some other footage I have of them being weird 😅 yeah nothing like watching a dog take in the view it’s so nice. Omg i know some absolute whoppers! And elegant arrangements of potatoes 🥔 you too have a great weekend! Xx
@@missnancysdayoff be great to see some more of those guys being weirdos, little dogs always do daft things! 😂
I don’t think you can go wrong with an elegant potato arrangement 😂 hope you have a great weekend too xx
What great dogs.
Really great 😊
Good morning Tori.
Your videos are always a little bit of sunshine.
You spoke with passion about dogs at about 4:30 in the video.
Loved watching you walking through the busy outdoor market.
It was so British😀
Nice fresh veg there, huge onions, beautiful flowers and loads of cake. Women love cake.
You must only eat a tiny tiny bit😂
Nice seeing the old machines and motorbikes.
It was busy, you showed it well and the took us all on a beautiful walk on perfect day.
The views were incredible.
I love the sun, one day soon I'll do a walk on the worst conditions just to show the sun doesn't always shine😀
Looking forward to next one.
Keep exploring❤️ X
Jamie🚶♂️⛰️🏕🏴😀👋
Hey! Very British I thought it would be funny to see for people overseas 😂 haha a lot of women do love cake, I’m not against it but it’s not really my bag! I’m a sucker for crisps 😱 glad you liked it I really loved the countryside, I’ve been having a mad run of good weather but I reckon the rain is here now. I’d like to see you camp in the rain see if it’s still fun 🤔 🏕️ ☔️ with an umbrella attached to a hat?! X
@missnancysdayoff
It was good👌
Cold walks can be fun, I'm looking forward to frost.
It's easier to walk when it colder, you stay cool and walk faster.
Yes I'm ready for a very wet camp soon.
I have one vid from the lakes tomorrow, sunny and beautiful weather.
Then a beach camp in the next 10 days, after that I'm ready for the rain 😀
Umbrella hat😂
I have a really bad video Henrhyd falls with an umbrella🤦♂️ it's so bad😂
I'm filming a little bit better now.
Looking forward to your next adventure. X
@Jamie-H5 yeah I like autumn and winter, frosts and mist and maybe even snow it’s dreamy, Miss Nancy liked it better too ♥️ sounds good, although I feel like I want to see the really bad video 😂 yeah your filming is getting really good! X
Thanks for the upload Tori. I walk my eldery neighbours dog four times a week, a mini Schnauzer. Great for depression and anxiety. Dogs just love you unconditionally without judgement. He always howls excitedly when he sees me. Great to feel wanted, if only for a little while. I was bitten by a lurcher a few years back, did quite a bit of damage to my anckle! Loved the old motorbikes, must be a lot of work to keep em so immaculate.
That’s so nice, yes i really think the relationship we have with animals is so important. We really ought to treat them all a bit better. He sounds like a great little guy and there is nothing like the welcome they give you to make you feel good 😊 ow poor you tat’s awful, good that it didn’t put you off dogs!
Another piece of digital celluloid magic. It was like being transported to a calmer, friendlier era - reminiscent of 'The Darling Buds of May'. What a tranquil corner of the country. Those fruit and veggies ......... yes, please. As for animals - if only more people would adopt rescue's. My 50kg Finnish Long Legged Dachshund is beyond reality, he is so, so loving and friendly to everyone / everything - he loves life and is always ready for the next adventure. His long snout is always twitching, eagerly sniffing out someone to say hello to. One day, hopefully, we'll adopt a couple of rescue donkeys.
I used to love darling buds of may! He is such a good boy I wish I could play with him you’re so lucky. Always donkeys! ❤️
@@missnancysdayoff blessed, I’m totally blessed. Yup, I’m lucky - after all, I found your channel. Catch you on Dartmoor one day - Rudi loves to play.
@chrishamilton2527 😂 too kind, if you see me send Rudi over
The dog was like " I'd like to stop barking , but I can't "
😅 it was so funny he was quite overcome
beautiful scenery, and those were some very impressive vegetables. almost makes a person feel humble, seeing mere plants achieve such greatness. that little lurcher was funny, and it speaks volumes about you that he trusted you enough to fall asleep on you.
i hadn't heard the word 'knackers' in that context in a very long time. over here, we're more likely to say that someone is 'knackered out' if they're exhausted, so your words gave me pause while i figured things out :) yes, it's frustrating that people are purchasing dogs from breeders when there are so many retired/rescued dogs that need good homes!
it's always nice to see a new video from you. take care of yourself.
It’s true, and i think it is a good thing to be humbled by vegetables! He was funny, it takes a while to get to know the pets even when they are friendly at first, so when they decide to sleep on me it always feels really special.
When i was editing i did kind of laugh because I’m pretty sure I haven’t used that word fora. Long time, i guess i was trying to be polite?! Yeah we also would say someone was knackered meaning tired! It is, my view is that there should be a moratorium on breeding pet animals until every single animal in a shelter has a home. Glad you enjoyed it thank you!
A lovely video Tori. Thanks again for bringing us with you ❤
You are so welcome! Glad you enjoyed it 🙏
That deerhound boy is gorgeous. Sighthounds are a special dog for sure❤
He was so cute, so small though i kept asking him why he hadn’t grown any bigger 😅 sighthounds are ❤️❤️❤️
It’s really good to see you enjoying yourself walking with dogs again, Tori.
The camera seems to favour the pointy faced dogs, I wonder why🤔😀❤️
It’s just different isn’t it, it’s so nice having their company out and about. Um….i tried really, really hard not to be favouritistic but I am not sure it worked 🫣
Doesn't matter how ideal the setting, even outdoors with a great vibe. Big crowds and eventually the world begins to over stimulate the senses ! :)
Well done Tori for getting round the showground and capturing what you wanted to see. Wonder how that large caged black rabbit felt about things, after a couple of hours ? Good to see you out walking & chilling with dogs again. You & "Grey fur" were definitely on the same
"wavelength" 😁
Yeah I define lot don’t love it like i used to, but then i think you get used to thing (i used to live in London) and now i am used to quiet places! I cannot imagine that the rabbits and birds had much fun at all in those little cages in the hot tent, i just wanted to show what was going on at the show from factual perspective. Strange times 😅 haha well i tried not to prefer the small half pointy dog but it was hard!
@@missnancysdayoff You always upload quality vlogs, however you're feeling.
Two dogs, rabbits, birds etc, they sense and know you're amazing.
Have a great day Tori ☀️
🤍 🦋
Vegetable perfection! I never thought I'd enjoy watching a vegetable video. Well done!
I know right, i never thought I’d be making one but somehow it just felt right haha
What fantastic views in Yorkshire... the Heather 👌💜. So glad that your fur baby sitting again and how cute were they 😍🐾🥰😘
It was so pretty! And amazingly quiet really considering the time of year. They were precious, i am furbabyless again now and it’s not ideal. But i did look after my friends greyhounds yesterday which was obviously 🥰❤️🐾😍
@@missnancysdayoff 🥰🙏😘
And a fourth comment for the algorithm…those heathers, or a similar spp., brighten many gardens here in the PNW, adding some pretty Fall and Winter color. Shouldn’t we embrace a good mystery?
I love the PNW I went for a little road trip some years ago and it’s beautiful!
Awesome, did the dogs smell of that beautiful heather after rolling in it. 🥰
They did bring the smell back home!
You are truly awesome...
You’re too kind 🤭
Beautiful landscape and a great petsit, Tori 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
All looking very content
And what a thing to be
I totally agree with you on your greyhound statement. My last dog was a rescue greyhound cross and was the spitting image of Miss Nancy. Unfortunately I had to have her put to sleep 2 weeks ago,.
I am so sorry. I know how much it hurts, I hope you are okay. There’s nothing that really makes it feel better I don’t think, I am sure they are still here beside us somehow though.
There is a certain je ne sais quoi, something so very special about a firm, young carrot - especially when they look exactly like a thingy! Withnail meets Blackadder! Very enjoyable and cute dog interactions. I love how unbothered cats are by their human protectors absence. I was in hospital for three days last year ( someone else was looking after them ) and was so looking forward to seeing them again, but when I opened the door they merely lifted their heads for a brief second before plonking back down again, irritated by the interruption to their snooze.
😅 withnail meets blackadder is always good. Glad you enjoyed it thank you. Haha you must have very independent cats, i have know a lot who would have missed you so much and just love people being around all the time. They do show their feelings in a different way than dogs though. But I love cats, they are always there for you when you are feeling sad, and i love their independent spirit 🥰
Nah then youth. Love it up there. Often belting around robin hoods bay and the moors on my motorbike. It is stunning. Hope you’re well.
Sounds fun! Although i went on a motorbike for the first time the other day and t was terrifying 😅 don’t think im a good passenger!
@@missnancysdayoff my daughter was the same and now she’s planning on getting her own bike as soon as she’s old enough. I could see you on an Africa twin bombing down some green lanes 😂
You’re pet sitting then , busy show , bloody hell I planted carrots this year not one grew = must be I have the wrong colour fingers . Very interesting, beautiful countryside, good luck what ever you choose to do , if the path before is clear you’re probably on someone else’s path , life is certainly a journey. Take care you = me .
The show was nuts busy, yep old Steve Wright had large vegetables in all categories we need to go to him for tips! Countryside was lovely it was a great time to visit i was lucky. Ha well maybe it’s my path then because it’s still clear as mud, thank you ☺️
@@missnancysdayoff know the feeling been wading through mud most of my life , the person in my last life must of had a really good time = lucky him or her , take care you = me again.
Hi Tori. Yup! Me again. The more videos you put up here, the more interesting I'm finding you. Farm shows? Whooda thunk? It is so Yorkshire though. Loads of pointys (I include Whippets in there), poultry, pigeons and the rest. what a place to visit. The lil' grey woof you got there looks like a mini Irish Wolfhound (Ironic!). Damn cute. Loved the cats too.
I'm curious if those "OOP NOORTH" only go for speedy dogs or wiry ones like terrors... sorry, terriers! Now I really would like to meet the pointy princess with the outdoor vibe and the oh-so-eloquent way of narrating. I'm guessing you were damn well educated. I was; to a degree (Yes, two of em for me. Never got to use the skills I spent 5 years studying for though... boo!). Now I just write songs, produce music or chase lighting storms around the country When we get any!
As you seem to have a knack for it, I'm not surprised to see another "Gonna-Watch-Again" video. You're that good. Aaaanyhoo, I'm getting sappy so I'll leave you with my usual rules.
Be very well, very happy (love your smile). and, of course safe. Vary or better!!
Take care . I sure do. Wolfie.
Haha well i don’t necessarily seek out farm shows on a regular basis but when in Rome… it was completely nuts! I have always been fond of a vegetable arrangement though 😅 the dogs and cats were all super cute, little hairy dogs are very nice looking but not as good for petting as my super smooth and sleek angel dog ❤️
Another soothing episode of your appreciation of nature and landscape , country show notwithstanding. Perhaps you would appreciate Helen Macdonald's Vesper Flights available on BBC Sounds........a similar view to yours.
so glad you liked it. thank you for the recommendation I will looks it up 🙏

Yes please! Is it a greyhound?! 😅 it would be nice to see me with a dog again, i only wish it were a bit simpler. ❤️xx
@missnancysdayoff no mine is a siver lab tori. It would be and I no what you mean by simple as you are quite busy lately❣️xx
Yeah just trying to keep myself distracted 🫣 xx

Word to the wise if I may. Next you are animal sitting, please be aware that Heather is renowned for Ticks.
Hi Tori, I so you get this . The grey Beddie wippet is the image of scarlet who I’ve recently lost . I am searching for breeders of first cross and this one is . Could you pm me any info ?
hello, I’m so sorry about Scarlett, they are certain absolutely precious looking. I’m not sure what you mean by first cross, and I do not know any breeders, but I do know lots of rescues with beautiful little hairy lurchers if you are looking that I could tell you, adults and puppies ❤️
@@missnancysdayoff Thanks for your reply. A first cross is a Beddlington Terrier pedigree crossed with a small whippet , I’ve had two and the most charming and gentle dogs . Your house sitting owners dog was definitely one . I just loved everyone , That’s why I asked but I agree there are lots of abandoned lurchers and greyhounds which is sad .
The reasons why I stopped going to county fairs 40 yrs ago on full display here. The overabundance of non consensual exploitation for ego and profit begs for a boycott.
It was very strange. I wanted to go and observe as I was there, see this part of life. I can’t say that I would go again because so much of it is against the freedom and compassion I believe in. The other bits were good though!
Lake Garda?
Well i was! This is a bit longer ago
Totally agree with you re the pointy faces. Why breed when there are so many waiting for their forever homes? It makes me angry and sad.
I know. I really find it so hard to deal with, amongst other things 😞
