- Neoplasia, is an extremely important topic in general pathology.
Meaning of the word neoplasia is simply "New growth".
A neoplasm could be either a benign one, or a malignant one. Benign tumors are considered innocent under normal circumstances. Malignant tumors are collectively referred to as cancers.
So, In this video I discuss about following topics;
1. Nomenclature of benign and malignant tumors
2. Differences between benign and malignant tumors
3. Hallmarks of cancer
4. Spread of malignant tumors
5. Clinical consequences of cancer
This video covers most of the learning material required for general pathology of neoplasia. But, I recommend you to read your textbooks.
There is another topic in neoplasia; "Molecular basis of cancer". This topic is not covered in this video. I recommend you to read on this topic using the latest sources of information. It is very important to know the molecular basis behind cancer genetics.
