- Russia-Ukraine War: Russia has reportedly deployed a powerful air defense system amid the ongoing war in Ukraine. The S-500 system, which has never been used before, has a response time of 4 seconds. The S-500, also called ‘Prometheus’, has reportedly been deployed to protect the Kerch Bridge. The experimental air defense system is capable of firing anti-ballistic and anti-satellite missiles. The deployment comes as several S-300 and S-400 systems were hit by Ukraine using ATACMS. Kerch bridge is not vital. Mostly civilian transport. Russia has a vast landbridge with a double line railway now and a good road-network. All repaired after the Ukrainians were ousted. This is just a great life-test of the system and will lead to further improvements of the system.
Kerch bridge is a "prestige" issue for both the Ukraine-West and for Russia.
Russia now has an opportunity to field test one more new weapon.
Certainly once the S500 has come into service, you can be sure that the NEXT super defence system is already halfway done. Russia don't mess.

Russia’s S-500 “Prometheus” air defense system can be linked back to 2010, shortly after its S-400 predecessor was introduced to service. Some say it was designed to attack F-22 and F-35 stealth fighters flown by the U.S. and NATO // The National Interest, January 10, 2024
Meet: S-500
Even though Russia’s early air defense systems were quite effective, the introduction of the S-500 is designed to counter more modern threats.
In particular, Moscow wanted the new variant to disable not only ballistic and cruise missiles, which were already able to withstand previous versions of the missile defense system, but also fifth-generation aircraft, such as the F-22 and F-35, as well as low-orbit satellites.
S-500 is lethal to any aerial target, both inside and outside the Earth’s atmosphere.
The vast majority of spy satellites are within the range of the latest aerospace defense system. And if necessary, they can all be disabled.
Another important advantage is the ability to predict the interception point of hypersonic weapons.
The emergence of the S-500 will present any potential enemy of Russia with a difficult choice: to refine already adopted systems or to create new ones. Sources in the defense and industrial complex note that the S-500 will virtually reset all US work on hypersonic weapons.
All existing and prospective ("20 years") US hypersonic missiles, including the AGM-183A, will enter the S-500 coverage and be shot down with a 100% warranty.
Do not fly where the S-400 and S-500, and fear nothing at all : Russia will "gently" shoot down military satellites... S-500, like the S-400, is a defense weapon, not an attack. Therefore, other countries have no reason to be afraid, unless, of course, they have planned aggressive actions.

Over the years as I have been following International Affairs and Politics,one thing I have come to realised is that whenever, Russia unveiled and used any weapon on the battlefield or to the global public, that means they have started another projects and development that are more sophisticated and advanced than the previous ones.
There's an S-550, and S-600 under development.
There's a military technology that I have always been dreaming about similar to something used in a Hollywood Sci-fi Star War movie and Black Panther and I am seeing the Russian Federation working on such Technologies. Moreover,if any nation make any breakthrough in developing such Technologies, they will be more invincible.
As for now, the Russian Federation lead the way in weapons.
