I always wondered what it was like for you to play hockey being legally blind. This gives a great perspective.

It’s basically the same. Planning on having actual games recorded at some point too

I’m a legally blind person and I wish I could play hockey. However, it’s nice to see this content on your channel :) I was not expecting this and I’m really glad to see it

Thanks for the amazing content OTG! I hope you had an amazing time!!!
Also I just thought of this how did you watch the leafs game last year? As in like how did you know what was happening? I knew you were legally blind before this video BTW! No intention to hurt your feelings GOAT!!!

That’s a great question! So since I’ve been legally blind my entire life, I’ve had to watch hockey without actually seeing the puck most of the time. This is where my hockey sense comes from, because I had to learn to know where the puck is without even seeing it.
To watch a game live, I usually sit a bit further up in the stands on purpose. It allows me to see the entire play and where everybody is. Alongside that, I bring a pair of low zoom binoculars. Enough to zoom in so I can see the puck, without being so powerful that it’s so zoomed in I don’t see what’s happening. Then I just switch between having the binoculars on and off as I watch the play: putting them on if I want more detail like see the jersey number or watch a shot, and take it off when I watch the general play happening and don’t need to focus on anything. It sounds like a lot, but it happens pretty naturally at this point. Thanks for the question, I don’t mind at all.
