So what would the disadvantage and advantage of having the intake inside your truck topper? Wouldn't it be colder air coming out by re-circulating the already cooled air?

If you place the intake inside the truck topper, it will enhance the cooling effect by recirculating the already cooled air. The main consideration is how you position the unit. Placing only the hoses inside the topper saves space, leaving the unit outside, but you will need to connect the front inlet duct adapter. Alternatively, you can place the AC unit inside and vent out the rear hoses; this will achieve the same cooling effect but will take up more space.

Can i run this inside my work truck? Are the ducts necessary?

Hi, thank you for your inquiry. How large is the truck area you'd like to cool, and when do you expect to use the air conditioner? During the day while driving or at night while you are sleeping? The ducts are necessary if you are using the A/C in an enclosed area. The ducts (except the front intake duct) are already included in the standard package of the Mark 2.
