You should check out more BTS because they are popular and will get you views. But also other groups like NMIXX, (G) I-DLE, more blackpink, maybe Twice and some early Itzy. Seventeen and TXT also has great songs.

A lot of people dismiss this song, along with Butter and Permission To Dance, because they don't have deep lyrics, but these are specifically feel-good songs to help people get through Covid, done in English to reach as many people as possible. They did the job they were meant to. And you gotta know that the guys really would have thought about the purpose and message of the songs when choosing them. They were concerned about Army's well-being during these depressing, often sorrowful times, and I personally commend them for releasing simple, upbeat songs to help lift people's spirits.

I think these songs are really good at doing what they were trying to do! I enjoy them for what they are. And for some folks, this is the stuff they love the most. I don't want them to feel like there's something wrong with that just because I'm a sucker for things that make me cry

Dynamite is the first of three fully English songs. The other two are Butter and Permission to Dance.
Dynamite is by far the most well known BTS song but personally for me, it doesn’t even rank in the top 20. It’s great but their Korean songs are just so much better in terms of substance and style. That’s just my preference. 😊
The English trilogy weren’t written by BTS but they’re still great tunes. BTS released them during Covid to spread joy and positivity. When you hear the other two you will get the same feel-good vibe.
Jungkook (the first guy to sing) has excellent English pronunciation. His album Golden is fully in English. Hard to believe he’s not fluent. ☺️

Dynamite was made after their entire world tour was postponed (eventually canceled) due to covid and it was a huge success which not even BTS expected. It earned BTS their first Grammy nomination, their first billboard hot 100 number 1 in the US, and at the time broke the record for the most viewed music video in 24 hours on youtube with 101.1 million views (BTS' Butter would break the record the following year).
And, after you've immersed yourself even more into BTS, the MMA 2019 performance will quite literally blow your mind. It's an awards show, but you'd never believe me after you watch it. LOL

I am always disappointed when new reactors react to this song first because they always assume it represents BTS' signature sound. They decide based on this song that BTS are a poppy boy band with no heavier chops or lyrical depth! But you know better, of course, and for that I am glad. This is the first BTS song I ever listened to when I discovered them in 2020 and the second was Mic Drop. I was like...WTF? Being an older fan (65), I had dismissed them as some stupid boy band and I was not interested. Then I discovered what they really were about and I have never looked back! Eager for you to react to some of the rap line stuff. Especially Outro: Tear and UGH.....also, ON: Kinetic Manifesto; Film and the performance of Magic Shop live which shows the guys really having fun on stage while maintaining the skill and quality that we expect from BTS!!!
It was Dynamite then Save Me for me. I was ready to dismiss them based on dynamite even though it's very good, because it's not really the kind of thing I love. Then Save Me hit me hard and that was that. 🤣💧
BTS is their own genre! I have a suggestion. It's not a music video, it's a medley of their b-sides throughout the years, it's amazing because it showcases some of their versatility 💜

I’m a dynamite ARMY as well. My 46 yo daughters had been telling me about them for awhile. I had been turned off North American music for a long time. I am 79. I enjoyed Dynamite and that made me give them a chance but it was their other less “poppy” songs that made me a forever fan. 💜

BTS made history as the only group to chart 3 songs in 3 different languages on billboard with Dynamite (English), Life Goes On (Korean) and Film Out (Japanese). They are truly a ground breaking group.
Dynamite is the song that brought me into BTS. It was the middle of the pandemic, I was a fairly recent widow, and I discovered BTS. This is not one of their deep or message songs, it's fun and cheerful. Like Butter and Permission to Dance. Some people dismiss these songs, in favor of their older work, but I love all of it. This song got them their first Billboard #1, their first Grammy nomination, and a slew of other honors. This is such a happy, feel good song, I don't see how anyone doesn't like it. That said, I do love their older work as well: Dope, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Spring Day, Truth Untold (Vocal line song), Cypher Part 3 (Rapline) and of course the two that started it all No More Dream and We are BulletProof Pt 2. They are just an amazing group!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
It's been almost 4 years since Dynamite came out and I still can't get enough of it. I agree 100% with you, it makes us feel giddy. No matter how many times I listen to it, this feeling remains constant. Also, yes, there's NOTHING they can't pull off, from various music genres to vibrant clothes to swanky hair colors. Their versatility is insane!

BTS loved the performance of these songs and the good vibes sent to so mamy english speaking International ARMY. They were not thrilled with the lyrics having insignificant meaning and being labeled sellouts by kpop netizens. Honestly I love when folks tell me they don't like kpop or never heard it. I play them Dynamite or Butter then they say I've heard this. They had no idea they listened to BTS.
So Imma tell my story about hearing this song for the first time. I was working in the ER during Covid, it was around midnight and my coworker Kellie dragged me into the storeroom and we watched it together. It was such a good song and helped me and her alot during Covid and being on the the front lines working with dying patients.
Hard to believe the leader, RM (blue hair), is the only one fluent in English lol. They work so hard. 💜

Dynamite was released for us because everyone was so miserable during the pandemic. So BTS came through for ARMY especially but also for the world with these fun, catchy songs to uplift our spirits: Dynamite, Butter, and Permission to Dance. They also sang to us about the melancholy we all felt in the beautiful Life Goes On (Korean/English). I highly suggest a listen to all of them - absolutely brilliant! Also, do some live versions - you'll see how incredible these guys really are as singers and rappers. Happy to help you find new songs!

It's hard to believe that they are still human beings on this planet who have never heard any of BTS songs? How it's even possible?
Dynamite was truly the song that got me through the pandemic blues. Everything and everyone was sad, tense and bleak and then this song just made me shine through the city with a lil funk and soul and brightend up my days :)

Dynamite, butter and permission to dance are the 3 songs in English that they have, they are directed mainly for the American market. With dynamite and butter they managed to be nominated for the Grammys, in 2020 and 2021

This song was made to cheer Armys up around the world during the pandemic. No heavy and deep meaning, just a feel good song. You should check out another english song... Butter live performance at the grammys. Their live performance is amazing.

Dynamite was my first noticed song. It was played on our local radio and I thought I like it and searched BTS on TH-cam. That was the big mistake 😂. A half year later came "Butter" and that is still one of my favorite songs. The official MV is great, but I think I like the "Butter Hotter Remix" MV a little more. It's so funny. When you react to that then pay attention to the members in the back. 😂
JK(the 1st scene) did an all English album last year called Golden. It was a massive worldwide success. He did a remix of one of his songs with USHER and the video was epic. They all do insane solo work, you will love it!!!💜💜💜
This was written by British songwriters David Stewart and Jessica Agombar. It was meant to be a song which would cheer us up when we were in the early days of the COVID pandemic and it certainly did. I was just a baby ARMY when it was released and I enjoyed it but I feel that the Korean language songs are more them. It’s there where they shine with hard hitting political and emotional lyrics which display their cultural heritage. The advantage of Dynamite and the two songs, Butter and Permission to Dance is that I can sing along all the way through. Not being able to speak much Korean or Japanese doesn’t stop me having a shot at singing some of their Korean and Japanese songs though. Doolset Lyrics has great translations (‘Dool Set’ is Korean for, ‘Two Three’ which the boys always say when they introduce themselves- ‘Dool Set, we are, BTS’). Watch the behind the scenes to see them working out some of the special bits of choreo themselves.
Jungkook of BTS has a whole album in English. BTS also has two other songs in full English, permission to dance and butter. Both pretty good.

They made this for the pandemic to cheer everyone up. all of BTS songs are completely different. No two songs sound the same, which is why I love them. FYI, Jungkook solo album is all in English. They all released solo albums the past year before going into the military.
Personally I love the Untold Truth. The vocal line really shines in that song. Boy with Luv is also really good. This song was definitely a feel good song for the world. It’s not my favorite but I always feel happy listening to it. They have such a wide range of styles. They are truly amazing. I’m glad you found them.

Hi there. Yes, I am here! 'Dynamite' was a song that the boys felt really that the whole world was hurting because of COVID. So they thought a lot about it, and decided to gift the world a feel-good song - to lift up spirits, to make people happy - for a little bit. That's why it's all in English. Throughout COVID, there were 2 other full on English songs - 'Butter' and 'Permission To Dance'. There's lots more really to explore with BTS - from old songs to new ones, solo projects to full English albums. All are precious in ARMYs' (BTS' fans) eyes, ears and hearts. Someone suggested 'Blood, Sweat & Tears' - that is a gem of a song, too, from earlier years. That music video....oh! Just the depth of their thinking. So...enjoy! And yes, thus far, I think I'll enjoy this journey with you. Take care!

They actually have quite a few songs in english now, like 'Butter', 'Friends' (solo by V), and 'Standing Next To You' (solo by Jungkook, but also has a remix collab with Usher) I highly recommend standing next to you, that song is seriously next level and as someone who grew up listening to a lot of Usher it makes me sooo happy. Not only that, but they also have songs in Japanese too, 'For You' comes to mind, it's a bit older but still a really good song.
The other 2 english songs are Butter( the performed this at Grammy 2022) and Permission To Dance(performed this at UN). All 3 songs went into Billboard 100 as nr 1

Their music grows with them
So this is BTS' big pandemic hit. It was what they themselves but also the world needed in 2020. It was a major international hit, actually still is. BTS themselves were in a very difficult situation in 2020 because they had planned to go on a major stadium world tour. So all their plans had come to a hold through the pandemic. This song was their way of coping with this situation.

Dynamite is the first of three English songs that was released as feel good songs during the pandemic. K-pop is an industry not a music genre and they have just as many types of music as western artists. 💜

When "Dynamite" was released it had over 2.3 Million (?) watching the premiere concurrently, the most in YT history... only to be broken by their next English song, "Butter", which had over 3 Million watching. "Dynamite" was also the fasted MV in YT history to reach 100/200/300/400/500/600.... Million views and reach 1 Billion views in only 10 months (Butter broke a few of the earlier 100's records, but it's still shy of 1 billion as of now).
And you are correct that "Dynamite" is not a deep lyrical song (unlike the majority of their discography), but was recorded and released during the pandemic to give people something fun and uplifting to sing and dance along to. It's also one of the few songs in their over 400 songs oeuvre that at least one of the members didn't co/write or co/produce.
I believe the concurrent viewers were 3 and 3.9 mil respectively. 😉💜

Dynamite should have won the Grammy
They always knock it out of the park. Whatever their goal or the genre of music, they nail it. This was to lift spirits during lockdown and it 100% achieved that goal in spades and blew up like literal dynamite, to BTS' shock. The song is more simple and lacking the depth of their other music, but as a gateway to BTS it's great. It made people who never gave them a chance take notice of them and look further into their discography. As an introduction to BTS, it is something of a misperception, being super light pop, but it's just one of the many genres they have in their arsenal. They do pop, rock, pop-rock, R&B, neo-soul, jazz, ballads, EDM, rap-metal, latin pop, and much more...but the soul of BTS is really their hip hop, it's the foundation on which they are built.
