- As the Israeli army shifts its focus southward to Rafah, Hamas is reportedly launching fresh attacks in the northern areas of the Gaza Strip. Footage released by Hamas purportedly shows attacks on the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in Jabalia and Gaza City in the northern parts of Gaza. A senior Israeli officer sustained injuries in the northern skirmishes, making him the highest-ranking soldier to be wounded on the ground in Gaza since October 2023. Meanwhile, the Israeli army chief reportedly criticised Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for what he perceived as inadequate planning. Despite earlier claims of purging certain areas, the IDF finds itself engaged once again in combat with Hamas forces in those same territories, as per Israeli reports. Watch the full video for more.
