- On the 1st of January 2024 we visited the Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway for their final steam-up of the season. It was the last running day of 4144 before it returned to its home at Didcot Railway Centre. On the other end of the train was class 37 37328.
We are very excited to see what steam loco the C&PR will have for their 2024 season (Simon is hoping it will be City of Truro!) and are looking forward to visiting again when they reopen.
We were also able to use our drone for the first time at this railway to film some loco movements in the yard, which is a part of the railway we can't usually see. Amazing!
We had an excellent day and we hope you enjoy our video.
Happy New Year! Lots of love from Canada! 😊
Thanks for watching.
Brilliant video Simon, good to see that you and your Dad are starting to use the drone more often. It's also good to see that steam and diesel working together, top and tailing the train so there won't be the need to turn around at the end of the journey, easy! This practice is very common on excursions done by steamrail Victoria because there is a lack of turning facilities at many of the destinations they travel to, with the acception of a couple of regional stations such as Baccus Marsh and Warnambool.
I also heard recently that hattons model railway shop is closing down, very sad but they had to do it because of difficult circumstances.
On a lighter note I'm going on the diesel rail and sail next week, I've been really looking forward to that, can't wait.
Keep your steam up Simon.
Cheers mate
Rail and sail sounds fun! Enjoy.
Small Prairie 4555 next season Simon.
Great news! I'm sure we'll be along soon to see it in action.
