Kangding City, a county-level city and capital of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, is called "Da Zheduo" in Tibetan, which means the confluence of Daqu (Yala River) and Zhequ (Zheduo River). It was translated as "Dajianlu" in the old history, and later translated as "Dajianlu", referred to as Lucheng. Located in the eastern part of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, it is the throat of Sichuan-Tibet, an important town on the ancient Tea Horse Road, and the intersection center of Tibetans and Han. Since ancient times, it has been the political, economic, cultural, commercial, information center and transportation hub of Kangba Tibetan area. With a total area of 11,600 square kilometers, at the end of 2022, the total population is 128,200. It is a city with 24 ethnic groups, including Han, Hui, Yi, Qiang, etc., mainly Tibetans. As of June 2023, Kangding has jurisdiction over 2 streets, 8 towns, and 7 townships.
Kangding City was once called "Overseas Fairy Mountain, Holy Land of Penglai" by former Premier Zhu Rongji. Kangding was a Qiang land in ancient times, and was called "Dajianlu" by Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period. In the 34th year of Emperor Guangxu's reign (1908), it was changed to Kangding Prefecture. Kangding is a Chinese name, and it was named after the stability of Kangdi, because the east of Danda Mountain is called "Kang". In 1939, Xikang Province was established, and its capital was set in Kangding. In March 1950, Kangding was liberated and has been the capital of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan to this day. In 2015, the county was abolished and a city was established. Kangding is an ethnic city with multi-ethnic exchanges, multi-cultural integration, and coexistence of multiple sects. It is known as the "thoroughfare of Tibet and Wei" and the "key point of Sichuan and Tibet". It is the birthplace of Guozhuang culture, and is famous at home and abroad for the song "Kangding Love Song", and is known as the hometown of love songs. On April 28, 2019, Kangding City withdrew from the list of impoverished counties. Kangding has many scenic spots, such as Mugecuo and Xinduqiao.
In 2022, Kangding City achieved a regional GDP of 11.9562 billion yuan, an increase of 0.1%. Among them: the added value of the primary industry was 634.11 million yuan, an increase of 4.8%, the added value of the secondary industry was 492.351 million yuan, a decrease of 3.3%, and the added value of the tertiary industry was 639.858 million yuan, an increase of 2.2%.

甘孜州的首府，不能算是县级市。不过，川西的任何一个高原小城如小金、丹巴、德格、甘孜等都干净整洁。

中国现在各地的街道都挺干净的，连农村都搞得很干净。
还是有很多脏的地方，我去过不少地方。比如四川盆地内丘陵地区的很多小镇，房子和路都是又破又烂。藏区主要吃财政转移房子和路都修的很好很新。反而普通山区没啥钱，年青人都走光了，发展不起来。
